Report: Eddie George Agrees to Become Bowling Green HC on 5-Year Contract
Eddie George reportedly is leaving Tennessee State to become head coach of Bowling Green after making an FCS playoff appearance last season.

Thamel previously reported on Saturday that Bowling Green made an offer to George and there was "mutual interest."

Bowling Green is seeking a replacement for Scot Loeffler, who joined the Philadelphia Eagles' coaching staff this offseason.
Loeffler, who will now serve as quarterbacks coach for Jalen Hurts and the Super Bowl Champions, led Bowling Green to three straight bowl games.
The Feb. 28 announcement of his departure opened up a 30-day transfer portal window for Falcons players. Rising sixth-year safety CJ Brown entered the portal the following day.
Bowling Green will hope to keep the rest of the roster in Ohio by quickly settling on their next head coach.
George is coming off an FCS playoff appearance and a share of the program's first conference title since 1999.
A former Heisman Trophy-winning running back for Ohio State who went on to play nine NFL seasons with the Tennessee Titans and Dallas Cowboys, George took his first coaching job when he joined Tennessee State in 2021. He is one of multiple former NFL stars, including Tyrone Wheatley, Michael Vick and Deion Sanders, to take over HBCU programs in recent years.
George has since led the Tigers to a 24-22 overall record. Last season's 9-4 result, followed by the first FCS playoff appearance in program history, made him a finalist for the 2024 Eddie Robinson FCS National Coach of the Year.
FootballScoop's John Brice recently named University of Minnesota assistant coach Nick Monroe, University of Massachusetts offensive coordinator Mike Bajakian and Oklahoma State quarterbacks coach Kevin Johns as other potential candidates to become Bowling Green's next head coach.
