Kevin Durant Hopes to Make '10 More' NBA All-Star Appearances, Talks 1 vs. 1 Format
Kevin Durant might've turned 36 this fall, but the Phoenix Suns star doesn't intend to bid adieu to the NBA All-Star Game anytime soon.
"Hopefully 10 more," Durant told reporters when asked how many times he envisions competing in the event after Team Shaq's victory in Sunday's All-Star championship.
The 15-time All-Star also echoed other All-Star endorsements of turning the game into a one-on-one tournament. He called it a "solid idea" and believes marquee players would get behind it.
Durant said Saturday he thought he'd come out on top in a head-to-head contest against the best talent in the NBA.
The 2025 All-Star Game represented a massive change from the traditional format. Three teams of All-Stars and the winners of the Rising Stars Challenge battled over three games, and the victor was the first team to score 40 points.
Unrivaled's one-on-one tournament offered a test case of how that would look in practice for the league.
