WWE SmackDown Results: Biggest Winners, Losers and Moments from June 25
Dean Ambrose may no longer be the No. 1 contender to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but that does not mean he is going to go away quietly, as evidenced by his main event match against Seth Rollins on Thursday night on SmackDown.
The Lunatic Fringe withstood interference from Kane and Joey Mercury, only to fall to Rollins and the Pedigree moments later.
But the loss was not one that slammed the door on Ambrose's main event run. Had the members of The Authority not been there to back up Rollins, the unhinged competitor likely would have won the match—something that will not be lost on fans going forward.

The booking announced to the WWE Universe that Ambrose figures to play a key role in the main event scene for the foreseeable future, rather than serve as a foil for Rollins between higher-profile feuds.
Ambrose was the biggest winner from the June 25 episode of SmackDown, but he was not the only one. For a show with very little effect on main storylines, there were several stars who came out of the broadcast with much-needed momentum—especially as the huge July 4 show from Japan and Battleground approach.
Who were they, and which of their peers were less lucky?
Find out now with this look at the biggest winners and losers from this week's SmackDown.
Loser: Seth Rollins
Remember when it looked for a brief moment like Seth Rollins would finally be allowed to win matches on his own without constant interference from The Authority, thus strengthening his credibility among the WWE Universe?
Those days were quickly put behind us, as Rollins is back to relying far too much on interference from Kane and J&J Security to pick up wins.
That makes him look like a weak champion, regardless of the fact that he is a heel and heels typically cheat. The problem is he cheats so much and wins in such fluky manners that there is no way the fans can conceivably buy him as a threat to the majority of his opponents.
So obvious is the lack of credibility on Rollins' part that the rocket scientists on WWE Creative have actually turned it into the driving story behind his upcoming match with Brock Lesnar.
That is not a good look for Rollins, the writers or the company as a whole, making The Architect the biggest loser of the night.
Loser: Naomi
It was not all that long ago that Naomi made a heel turn and appeared poised to become the lead villain in the Divas division.
On Thursday night, any chance she had at winning the Divas Championship any time soon evaporated as she suffered a loss to the latest Bella Twins tag-along, Alicia Fox.
The loss had to be humbling for Naomi, who completely changed her appearance and character in hopes of achieving the success she has chased for so long.
Unfortunately, it was all for naught.
Winner: Ryback
Regardless of whether one supports the ongoing feud with Big Show and The Miz or not, Ryback has done an outstanding job of carrying the Intercontinental Championship to this point.
On Thursday night, the booking of the titleholder was perfect, with Ryback forced to overcome a sneak attack at the hands of the World's Largest Athlete before he even set foot inside the squared circle to battle Kane.
Despite being injured, he showed tremendous fortitude in fighting back and nearly winning anyway, just before being attacked by Big Show one more time.
Add to that angle a strong promo at the top of the show during which he interrupted The Authority, and you have a banner night in The Big Guy's title reign.
Winner: Bo Dallas
The most inspirational Superstar in WWE may have been on the losing end of yet another match on Thursday night, but his backstage antics with The New Day were golden.
Whether it was the sickeningly positive interaction with the trio or his inability to get the clap down, Dallas was at his goofy best.
While it is pretty clear that WWE is perfectly fine with keeping The New Day as a trio, it is a wonder that it has not further explored an obvious pairing between the stable and Dallas.
Winner: Roman Reigns
The key to ensuring success for an over-the-top program like the one involving Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns is for the performers to deliver the most grounded and natural showings possible.
On Thursday night, Reigns proved that he can do just that, coming across as real rather than fake or scripted. He had natural reactions to Wyatt's ongoing threats, expressing both anger and concern without looking like the D-level actor that some of his fellow Superstars often resemble.
Reigns has had a banner year from an in-ring perspective, and it looks as though he is going to be proving himself as a performer away from the squared circle going forward.
