2009 College Football: Drunken Gator's Top SEC RBs After Week One
The SEC has a rich history of producing great running backs.
After each week's games I will give a list of the best running backs playing for the SEC this year. The standings will change often because these rankings are all about what the players do on the field.
The SEC went 11-1 in week one of the college football season.
The following is a breakdown of the top 10 running backs after week one in the SEC.
Remember this list is complied of a ranking system I have constructed that awards points based on rushing and recieving yards plus touchdowns and carries.
1. Mark Ingram (Alabama) 231 points
2. Montario Hardesty (Tennessee) 190 points
3. Onterio McCalebb (Auburn) 180 points
4. Zac Stacy (Vanderbilt) 163 points
5. Ben Tate (Auburn) 147 points
6. Warren Norman (Vanderbilt) 143 points
7. Bryce Brown (Tennessee) 125 points
8. Richard Samuel (Georgia) 118 points
9. Robert Elliott (Mississippi State) 116 points
10. Jeffery Demps (Florida) 114 points
Remember these rankings are just based on the week one performances. With a lot of blowouts runners did not get the full carries they would normally get.
Congrats to Mark Ingram of Alabama, my leader for the SEC after week one.
This is going to be a great year for running backs in the SEC.
Remember to visit my blog to get my picks for week two.
Record after week one: 65-13
Till next time,
Peace, Love and the SEC
