1 Summer Transfer Rumour Barcelona Fans Do Not Want to Come True
As usual at this time of year, Barcelona feature heavily in the transfer rumours column.
Despite the presence of a FIFA-imposed transfer ban the Catalans are still able to sign players but are not able to register them to actually play before January 1, 2016.
To add to the unusual nature of this particular window, Barca also have presidential elections that will take place on July 18.

With four separate candidates already confirmed to run for the now-vacated hot seat, it's worth paying attention to the various manifestos that each will bring to the party and which will surely include the promise of a player or two as a way of procuring votes.
"Ramsey is not Barca material...

In any event, there is one player in particular that has already been linked with the club and who it would be fairly safe to assume hasn't exactly set the pulses racing.
Despite the healthy relationship that Barcelona enjoy with Arsenal, which has seen the Blaugrana hand over £123 million in transfers, the notion that there is £50 million in the kitty for Aaron Ramsey is preposterous.
Via the Press Association (h/t Daily Mail), Wales manager Chris Coleman noted recently:
"Barca signed (Ivan) Rakitic from Sevilla last year. Some people were scoffing at that, but he's a good player, and if Barca are looking at 'Rambo' then it's for a reason.
He's already playing for Arsenal, who play a similar style. He's playing at the top of the Premier League and Champions League every season, so ability-wise when you see the best of Aaron Ramsey... at his best is he good enough for Barcelona? Yes he is, at his best.
"
Coleman's endorsement of the player is admirable, but playing in a team that has won two FA Cups in a decade doesn't really qualify him to run the midfield of the treble winners.
However, given the similarities in their game Coleman's comparison to Rakitic is a reasonable one.
Per WhoScored.com, the "Welsh Maradona" scored two more goals than the Croatian but had one less assist and perhaps most notably his passing was way off.
Maybe 86.5 percent is good enough for the Gunners and the Premier League, but pales into insignificance when compared to Rakitic's 90.6 percent.
Ramsey has more tackles per game than his contemporary but arguably has to do more of the donkey work for the north Londoners than Rakitic has to at Barca.
In any event, the Welshman might be a decent player when on his game but he certainly isn't worth £35 million more than Rakitic. And where exactly would he fit into Luis Enrique's setup?
A player who is adept at playing attacking or defensive midfield roles, who has a good engine and can play centrally or wide if required.
Well isn't that the exact role that Rakitic already undertakes for the Blaugrana?
If Barcelona were indeed going down the road where they felt that another midfielder with a different skill set to the likes of Andres Iniesta or Xavi Hernandez is required, then surely there are better options than Ramsey.
Perhaps there is then an argument that Paul Pogba of Juventus, who also plays that hybrid type of midfield role, is in the frame. And in all fairness, you would have to say that the ex-Manchester United man is a significant upgrade on Ramsey.
The club have done a great job of not listening to the supporters in recent times. Sponsors on the shirt, horizontal stripes instead of vertical...
Any incoming president needs to get the masses onside in double-quick time. And that would mean ruling out a move for Aaron Ramsey.
