WWE Money in the Bank 2015: Feuds That Will Continue Through Battleground

Aaron BowerJun 16, 2015

Although Money in the Bank and the subsequent events on Raw brought some feuds in WWE to an end, that doesn't mean there won't be some that continue at Battleground.

Given how we've had a deluge of pay-per-view shows lately, the fact that Battleground is five weeks away makes it seem like a lifetime.

However, that will give the company and those in Creative the chance to fine-tune some of their current rivalries to ensure that they go off with a bang, including those that will carry on from Money in the Bank.

Nikki Bella vs. Paige

After another controversial finish that cost Paige the WWE Divas Championship yet again, don't expect Nikki Bella to move on to a new contender any time soon.

The Bella Twins are gradually growing a conclusive and decisive heel turn, and their shady antics are certainly helping to pile some heat on them.

Paige is still without a doubt at the front of the line for challengers despite a couple of losses—largely due to the fact there's no real babyface characters who could jump in front of her.

And if Battleground does host another meeting of these two leading lights of the Divas division, it could finally be Paige's turn to get the win.

The Prime Time Players vs. The New Day

With perhaps the other two leading tag teams in WWE suffering from injuries at the moment, it seems certain that Titus O'Neil and Darren Young will defend against The New Day at Battleground.

The Usos and Cesaro and Tyson Kidd won't be competing as duos any time soon, so the mandatory rematch for The New Day seems certain to happen at the next pay-per-view.

O'Neil and Young deserve a fair run with the belts after finally being given the shot—even if it means the excellent run of The New Day takes a slight hit in terms of momentum.

The only other option WWE has is to bring Luke Harper and Erick Rowan into the mix soon. They're a very interesting team, so after this meeting at Battleground, maybe The Prime Time Players are on course to meet the former members of The Wyatt Family.

John Cena vs. Kevin Owens

Logic dictates that John Cena vs. Kevin Owens will happen again for a number of reasons.

Firstly, it's all tied up at one win each after Elimination Chamber and Money in the Bank, so a third and decisive contest is certainly inevitable in that sense.

Secondly, Cena's recent feuds have always seemed to include three pay-per-view bouts. So again, in keeping with tradition, expect another meeting.

But above all else, and unlike most of Cena's other feuds, this is just too exciting to turn away from at the moment.

Cena and Owens have had two blockbuster matches in recent weeks, and after Owens injured Cena following the latter's win at Money in the Bank, expect Cena to come back firing.

Who wins the third match is anyone's guess, but that's part of the reason why these two heavyweights must go at it again.
