WWE Programming's Best Match for Week of June 6
The heavy schedule WWE is running at the moment makes the peaks and troughs of its weekly programming all the more obvious. Heading into Money in the Bank, it's obvious that the preceding week was something of a resting period ahead of the much-anticipated event.
With injuries piling up, it's little surprise this strategy has been employed. While great matches weren't as frequent this week, it's clear the bouts that did stand out were carefully positioned to keep fans engaged. Fortunately, the talent involved managed to do just that.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
This week's slim selection of must-watch matches was buoyed by an above-average SmackDown broadcast. Alicia Fox and Paige had an enjoyable match despite it not being particularly long. Both would likely do even better with a little more time.
SmackDown was also the setting for the latest match between Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins. We've seen this one plenty of times at this point, but both men are very adept at changing up the formula. The results are dependably excellent, so you can see why they're so often paired up.
Elsewhere, we saw a much fresher matchup on Raw when Kofi Kingston took on Roman Reigns. Kingston has been overlooked for much of his WWE tenure, but there are signs his excellent run with the New Day will embed him in a higher position on the roster. Here's hoping that's the way things play out.
Match of the Week for Week of April 6: Kevin Owens vs. Neville on Monday Night Raw
The influx of NXT standouts to the main roster seems to be in full swing. Now that there's a sizeable contingent able to work together, it's starting to produce some really excellent matches.
We've seen Kevin Owens and Neville square off before, but this match was perhaps their best encounter yet. The regular open-challenge segment has been a constant highlight of Raw in recent months, and this week's twist on proceedings produced one of its most satisfying matches thus far.

A competitive, lengthy match between two excellent athletes is a terrific way to kick off Monday Night Raw—especially when the alternative is likely a lengthy speech from the Authority. With minimal patter, this was a brisk and engaging way to kick things off.
Once Owens and Neville were up and running, the action came thick and fast. Both men possess a great balance of agility and strength, and both have enough of a war crate to make any match in which they are involved very interesting.
Another thing that both men share is a canny awareness of how powerful withholding a technique can be. Both have a massive array of techniques at their disposal, but they're wise enough not to feel the need to use every move they know in every match they wrestle.
Neville's deadlift German suplex looked outstanding in this match, but it wouldn't have been nearly as impressive if we saw him hit it each and every week. Owens is similarly prudent in terms of the further reaches of his repertoire.
Owens picked up the win, but Neville put up a very game fight. A spirited loss will cause him no issues in terms of momentum as he heads into the Money in the Bank ladder match. Of course, Owens looked fantastic by picking off the New Sensation.
As well as being satisfying in its own right, this bout also served the purpose of building to two matches at the forthcoming pay-per-view. Accomplishing all that in just fifteen minutes takes a lot of finesse, and that's why this was the clear-cut choice for match of the week.
