Parker Expected to be Ready for Season Opener
Wednesday, June 10
"He’s going to be out for awhile now w/ his foot but should be ready to go for opening day," Dolphins Executive Vice President of Operations Mike Tannenbaum said, via NFL Media PR.
On June 5, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reported it's not a major injury, and if it was the regular season, the wideout would probably play through it. Albert Breer of the NFL Network provided further details about the surgery:
Tom Pelissero of USA Today provided additional details on the wideout's outlook:
The Dolphins drafted Parker with the hope he could bring a new dimension to their passing game. The Louisville product possesses an intriguing combination of size and athleticism that allowed him to catch 33 touchdowns in his college career.
Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reported that Parker will begin training camp on the PUP list:
For rookies, the exhibition slate is used to acclimate themselves to the speed of the NFL game. If he's unable to suit up at all before the regular season, the transition period could take a little longer. It won't impact his long-term outlook, though.
