WWE Rumors: Examining Latest Buzz Around Brock Lesnar, Stardust and More
The newest WWE rumors shine a light on why Brock Lesnar decided to work a house show in Japan and what Stardust may be up to come SummerSlam.
Lesnar's appearances are rare, so it's newsworthy when he decides to wrestle on a non-televised event. A backstage report gives the possible impetus for the choice, one that's not as juicy as one might expect. As for Stardust, a showdown with a celebrity at SummerSlam is possible, although it's far from confirmed at this point.
In other stories, Samoa Joe signed a full-fledged WWE deal, and Seth Rollins reignited a rumor about his recent change in finishing moves.

We begin, though, with Lesnar, who just made a house show in July mighty interesting.
Why Lesnar is Working a House Show
Although he rarely appears on Raw and hasn't been on SmackDown in over 10 years, Lesnar will head to Tokyo to wrestle in non-televised action on July 4.
What inspired this addition to his schedule? Apparently, it was a case of "Well, I was already going to be there."
According to F4WOnline (h/t WrestlingInc), Lesnar decided to work the show because he was planning to go to Japan to visit Masa Saito. He reportedly figured it would make sense to get WWE to pay for his flight there in exchange for working that live event.
This sounds similar to when The Rock made a surprise appearance on Raw last October. As PWInsider (h/t WrestlingInc), reported then, The Rock was in New York on business when WWE was headed for the city.
This newest case of fortuitous timing is great news for fans in Tokyo, who get a special treat thanks to Lesnar's relationship with Saito.
Backstage Word on Samoa Joe's Deal
The Samoan Submission Machine has agreed to a full-time WWE contract. The company changed his NXT deal to bring him aboard in earnest.
His initial success with WWE is reportedly the reason for that switch. PWInsider's Mike Johnson reports, "The immediate merchandise sales of Samoa Joe T-shirts as well as the fact that Joe's appearances for Ring of Honor would now be broadcast on national cable TV both played into the decision, as did Joe's performance at the WWE NXT taping last month."
It sounds as if WWE wasn't sure what it was getting with Joe and how its fanbase would react. Clearly, things have worked out well in the early going.
Bringing him on as a full-time wrestler is smart. This isn't a guy WWE has to groom and hope he gets better over time. He has proved at TNA and Ring of Honor that he belongs in the spotlight.
It's refreshing to see WWE bring in a guy who made his name elsewhere, regardless of what exactly drove the company to that choice.
More on the Curb Stomp
Rumors of a ban on Rollins' finisher made headlines earlier this year. There was some confusion, though, about the missing move. PWInsider reported that WWE didn't take the move away but rather wanted Rollins to go with something "that could be used on anyone, anywhere."
At a Q&A session at Wizard World in St. Louis, Rollins spoke about the Curb Stomp's absence. He seemed hesitant to get into details but did confirm that he would no longer be using it.
When asked if WrestleMania 31 was the last time we would see a Curb Stomp, Rollins said, "Yes. Yeah, it's gone."
The tone in his voice will have fans further convinced that WWE banned him from using it. He sounded apologetic and resigned. If he was just getting a better, more versatile move, he wouldn't be so wistful about his old weapon.
The Curb Stomp story remains one veiled in secrecy. As long as WWE is not upfront about the change, the rumors of its being a victim of the PG Era will live on.
Stardust vs. Arrow?
Stephen Amell, a WWE fan and star of Arrow, may head to the wrestling ring this summer. After his confrontation with Stardust as an audience member on Raw, a report has emerged that the two will meet in an official capacity.
Writing for HollywoodLife.com, Evan Real reports, "Stephen is set to take on Stardust at this year's WWE SummerSlam."
Before fans of Arrow or Stardust get too excited, though, they should take this story with the proverbial grain of salt. For one, sites like Pro Wrestling Torch, PWInsider and F4WOnline have yet to confirm this.
In addition, Amell took to Twitter to deny that the bout was happening:
That denial, however, may just be a ploy to get people to talk about the potential clash. The fact WWE announcers brought up Stardust's issues with Amell at Elimination Chamber points to this the possibility that it will become a reality.
Keep an eye on this story, but don't take it as truth just yet. When more voices chime in and more sources relay this info, it will be safe to let the anticipation build.
