WWE Raw Results: Biggest Winners, Losers and Moments from June 1

Erik BeastonJun 2, 2015

On the heels of Sunday's Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, WWE had no time to waste, beginning its two-week build to Money in the Bank on Monday night. Roman Reigns was the undisputed biggest winner of the broadcast.

After being left off the card at this past weekend's extravaganza, Reigns more than made up for the missed ring time, as he competed on three separate occasions in a three-hour span.

First he defeated King Barrett, then he got past the recently returned Mark Henry. Finally, he withstood interference from The Authority and still managed to knock off Bray Wyatt to retain his spot in the Money in the Bank Ladder match.

Again, Reigns proved why he has been one of the best, most consistent in-ring workers here in 2015, wrestling quality matches with both Barrett and Wyatt, and getting more out of Henry than anyone else has over the last year.

The star of Monday's show has shown an ability to turn the jeers that greeted him earlier in the year into cheers, something not everyone has proven capable of.

As he prepares for another opportunity to earn himself a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match, he is joined on this list by the other big winners from Monday's broadcast as well as the biggest losers, who did not have the same successful evening that the juggernaut did.

Loser: Ryback

Just 24 hours after winning his first singles championship in WWE, capping off a tremendous journey back from midcard obscurity, Ryback should have been celebrating.

Instead, he was confronted by the returning Big Show, who made it clear that he wants to be the next Superstar to challenge for the intercontinental title.

No sooner were the words out of the giant's mouth than Ryback's fate for the night and his placement on this list were sealed.

Rather than putting Ryback with someone he can have great matches withlike Sheamus or even Wyatthe is being saddled with Big Show, who has been the black hole of work rate for the last year.

Let's make no mistake about it: The World's Largest Athlete had a great match at Extreme Rules because he was working with Roman Reigns. There was no other reason for it. One look at everything else the big man has done over the last year tells the true story.

Unfortunately for Ryback, the success of his title reign will likely hinge on a series of matches with Big Show that have the potential only to bore the audience.

Winner: Kevin Owens

The current NXT champion cut another phenomenal promo on Monday night, rightly discussing how he says he will do something and always backs it up. He proved that once again at Elimination Chamber when he knocked off John Cena with the Pop-Up Powerbomb.

Owens has a way of speaking to the crowd matter-of-factly. He does not pander or unleash a bunch of ridiculous catchphrases (a point he made during the in-ring segment).

Instead, he talks like a normal human being, and that has undoubtedly helped him to connect with the audience as quickly as he has.

The line about his son liking Cena because he is presented as a real-life superhero was great, as was the reference to "Super Cena," a nickname given to the United States champion by the internet fanbase.

On a night when Cena fell back into his "that loss didn't affect me because I never give up" shtick, Owens again saved the segment and put heat on their upcoming rematch at Money in the Bank.

Losers: Referee Mike Chioda and Common Sense

Paige and Nikki Bella were in the midst of a halfway-decent Divas Championship match on Monday night when the titleholder rolled from the ring, switched places with twin sister Brie and celebrated a successful defense of her title after Brie scored the pinfall victory.

Twin magic was back, and while that may have worked to get the sisters over in the past, it is no longer effective due to some rather significant changes.

See, Nikki and Brie no longer look identical. Nikki is, um, bigger in places than Brie. Add to that the recent blonde dye job she received, as well as the fact that the Divas champion has been working on building muscle while Brie is more petite, and there are a wealth of ways to tell the siblings apart.

That one was wearing one material and the other was wearing a different material only adds to the list of blatant, clear-as-day differences between them.

So how are fans expected to believe that veteran referee Mike Chioda somehow missed every single one of them when he counted the pin on Paige on Monday night?

They should not be. We are in a day and age when fans are smarter than those who preceded them in the seats of arenas across the country. They do not take things at face value as the audiences before them did, and to insult their intelligence just to revive a gimmick that is no longer viable is ridiculous.

Winners: The Prime Time Players

Anyone concerned that Titus O'Neil and Darren Young's performance at Elimination Chamber was a one-time thing can rest peacefully knowing that, based on Monday's Raw, The Prime Time Players appear well on their way to a WWE Tag Team Championship matchperhaps as soon as at Money in the Bank.

Young and O'Neil came to the rescue of Dolph Ziggler following The Showoff's match against Kofi Kingston, then joined the former world champion for a six-man tag team match against The New Day following the commercial break.

O'Neil picked up the win for his team, pinning Xavier Woods following a pumphandle slam and firmly establishing him and his partner as the top contenders for the tag titles.

It has been a long road back to relevancy for the PTPs, but working with one of the most over heel acts in the company will only help to reintegrate them into the title huntnot to mention get them over as huge babyfaces with the WWE fans.
