Irish Open 2015: Leaderboard Scores and Highlights from Sunday
Denmark's Soren Kjeldsen won a three-way play-off to claim the 2015 Irish Open on Sunday at Royal County Down Golf Club in an eventful final day.
Kjeldsen finished tied on two under par with England's Eddie Pepperell and Austria's Bernd Wiesberger to see the trio head back down the 18th hole once again.
The 40-year-old birdied the first play-off hole in impressive, if knee-knocking fashion, and neither of his opponents could match him.

Day 4 Recap: Three-Way Play-off Decides Title

Kjeldsen was the only man in the play-off to put himself on the green of the par-five 18th in two, putting him in prime position to take the title.
Pepperell's drive was impressive, but his second went into the rough, and his third was right of the green. Wiesberger's off-line drive forced him to lay up and then leave himself with a 15-foot putt for birdie which he could not hole.
Kjeldsen ran his eagle putt to a couple of feet, and he then duly holed it to win the play-off and the tournament, although it was far from convincing, per the European Tour:
The Dane was clearly delighted with his performance, although he did admit to feeling nervous throughout the final day, per Adrian Millerick and Matt Somerford of the European Tour:
"My game wasn't in great shape and I was turning 40, so I thought was that it? I've never been this nervous, for some reason I've never been this nervous when leading. I said I wouldn't look at leaderboards, but when I made bogeys I did start looking at them. It's ridiculous and like a dream that I'll also be playing in the Open Championship.
"
In normal play on Sunday, Pepperell's was a hugely impressive final round in the conditions as he shot a two-under-par round of 69 without a single bogey.
As illustrated by the European Tour, it was tough going in County Down:
Indeed, having led on Saturday evening at seven under, Kjeldsen's Sunday card was peppered with four bogeys and a double to see him reeled back in.
He almost put himself out of contention as he pitched over the green on his 72nd hole, but he got up and down impressively to save par and claim a place in the play-off.
Similarly, Wiesberger had six bogeys in his final round, but four birdies saw him finish with a round of 73.
Englishman Danny Willett carded the round of the day with a 68—only two other players shot in the 60s—an eagle on the final hole helping his cause, per the European Tour:
A bogey on the 18th saw Spain's Rafa Cabrera-Bello robbed of a place in the play-off as he finished on one under par.
Similarly, Tyrrell Hatton was one short of the leaders at the end, but he did book himself a spot in this year's Open Championship at St. Andrews, as noted by the competition's Twitter feed:
Germany's Maximilian Kieffer had a poor day, as he dropped to one-over for the tournament after a round of 77, having been tied for second on Saturday.
None of the big names were able to trouble the top of the leaderboard, the likes of Luke Donald, Graeme McDowell, Padraig Harrington and Lee Westwood finishing way off the pace.
The European Tour now moves on to Sweden for the Nordea Masters which begins on Thursday.
