Real Madrid Transfer News: David De Gea Move 'Agreed,' Raheem Sterling Rumours
David De Gea has "agreed a deal to join Real Madrid" from Manchester United, according to Spanish radio journalist Joseba Larranaga (h/t Alex Harris of the Daily Star).
Larranaga told radio station Cadena COPE that De Gea will be the opening signing of soon-to-be-installed boss Rafa Benitez's tenure (h/t Harris): "The first signing with Benitez will be De Gea. The goalkeeper has reached an agreement with Real Madrid, although it is something difficult that is (to negotiate with) Manchester United."
De Gea posted a terrific season between the Old Trafford sticks—winning United countless points with important saves—and represents the next Spanish No. 1 when Iker Casillas' international influence finally fizzles out.

Casillas wishes to remain at the Bernabeu even if De Gea arrives, as he told El Larguero, tweeted by Dermot Corrigan of ESPN FC:
John Cross of the Mirror previously reported Liverpool's Raheem Sterling will be one of Benitez's "first transfer targets" in Los Blancos' hot seat. David Amoyal, writer on behalf of Sky Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio, believes this to be true now Benitez's exit from Napoli has been confirmed.
Amoyal suggests "Benitez is waiting" for Sterling, who has also caught the interest of Manchester City and Bayern Munich.

He is a player who would no doubt find his opportunities limited during the opening stages of a career in Madrid. The 2014-15 season highlighted how demanding the Spanish crowd are—underlined by jeers for Casillas and Gareth Bale—something Sterling may be susceptible to at this stage in his career.
The 20-year-old scored seven and assisted seven across 35 Premier League appearances during the recently concluded season, per WhoScored.com. However, he proved prone to missing opportunities in important matches—one of which saw him round De Gea before the goalkeeper saved—as consistent end product continues to go missing.
Sterling completed 81 percent of his passes during the campaign, firing in 0.5 successful crosses per match, as recorded by WhoScored. These kind of numbers wouldn't be enough to knock Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo or another talent consistently out of the team.
B/R UK's Sam Tighe recently looked at where Sterling could end up:
The Premier League could prove to be a fruitful hunting ground once again for Madrid this summer. Bale, Luka Modric and Javier Hernandez are among the signings to have made the journey from England in recent times, but it appears it won't be long until others follow.
De Gea would be an exceptional signing for the club, one who could potentially sort Madrid's goalkeeping worries out for the next decade. Sterling would have to work a lot harder to make less impact, but he has the potential to develop into one of the sport's best.
