Twitter Reacts to Chelsea's Open-Top Bus Victory Parade
The prospect of a Chelsea victory parade has been a near certainty since around January, but on Bank Holiday Monday, the day finally came for the Blues to celebrate their 2014-15 season:
Before taking the leisurely sojourn down King's Road, Chelsea's official Twitter account kicked off the "bantz" with a self-reflexive "park the bus" joke, before peppering their feed with some parade highlights:

The greatest moment of the parade, however, was Jose Mourinho's audition for The X Factor:
"It's a no from me. http://t.co/p0KWfL2NNV

As the occasion progressed, plenty of humorous tweets at Chelsea's expense surfaced:
Despite the celebrations taking place on a national holiday, the turnout in certain areas of the parade route was a little thin:
"Not sure if Chelsea's victory parade or a school field trip... pic.twitter.com/Lzly2Cypes

Depending on which tweets you read, Chelsea either had half of London out supporting them, or they were utterly humbled by Arsenal's FA Cup exploits last year:
"Arsenal had 70,000 fans at the FA Cup parade. Chelsea has 350,000 lol. pic.twitter.com/Gfvu9MaSoD

And Liverpool fans couldn't help but wade in:
Regardless of how many thousands did or did not attend, the parade exposed one of the minor foibles of Chelsea's fanbase: a love of celery:
Diego Costa seemed particularly keen to indulge in the celery festivities, although he appeared to be trying to impale his adoring fans:
"Meanwhile on Chelsea's open top bus parade today, Costa is assaulting the Chelsea fans with vegetables pic.twitter.com/Xksna4r8a9

"Diego Costa getting off the bus after an afternoon of intense celery throwing. pic.twitter.com/32FZvQfs5q

The liberal throwing of celery seemed to confuse a lot of fans:
"Why would you throw celery at each other!? Weirdos.
— Michael Wooly (@WoolyMCFC) May 25, 2015"
"Why celery?

Of course, the Blues' predilection for celery relates to a puerile chant that was sung decades before Roman Abramovich brought his riches to west London. However, flying celery wasn't the strangest thing on display during Chelsea's celebrations:
