Chelsea Parade 2015: Twitter Reaction, Photos, Videos, GIFs and More

Matt JonesMay 25, 2015

Chelsea celebrated winning the Premier League title with an open-top bus parade around west London on Bank Holiday Monday.

The Blues capped off an exceptional campaign with a 3-1 win over Sunderland on Sunday before lifting the trophy in front of the Stamford Bridge crowd. But those who weren’t in attendance at the illustrious venue got their opportunity to catch a glimpse of the silverware during the end-of-season parade.

Chelsea TV released the following video, outlining the route the bus would take:

As we can see here, the club’s official account posted the following picture and a satirical accompanying message prior to the procession getting underway:

Cesc Fabregas is a player who played a key role for the Blues this season. The midfielder signed from Barcelona last summer and totted up a remarkable 18 assists in English football’s top flight during the campaign, per WhoScored.com.

Having failed to win this title during his time with Arsenal, he was naturally very excited to show off this trophy for the club’s adoring fans:

This success represents a third Premier League title win for Blues boss Jose Mourinho, and his incomparable managerial acumen has been on show throughout the course of this glorious season.

As such, it was only fitting that he was one of the first to get on the bus:

There were plenty of supporters ready to greet their heroes as well:

Diego Costa has been another key addition for the Blues, and after sampling domestic success with Atletico Madrid last year, this is his second consecutive championship win.

He’s been a boisterous presence at the point of the Chelsea attack throughout the campaign, scoring 20 league goals, per WhoScored.com. As we can see, he was causing mischief onboard the bus too:

The tour wound round the capital's compact streets to Eel Brook Common, which was the trigger for captain John Terry, the departing Didier Drogba and the manager to address the thousands who had flocked to congratulate the new champions.

Mourinho was in a boisterous mood too, per Chelsea Stats:

He even had a bit of a sing, per Sam Cunningham of the Daily Mail:

Terry last got his hands on the Premier League title back in 2010, so he was naturally delighted to be holding it aloft once again.

“I've been waiting five years for this,” said the skipper, per Cunningham. “It's been a long, long time. It's a new generation of players and we need to go again.”

As is often the case on days of celebration like this one, there were plenty looking on enviously. Paddy Power were one of the first to take a swipe at the Blues and what seemed like a pretty scarce turnout during some sections of the parade:

Days like these are wonderful for the supporters, and as was evident by the jubilation on the faces of the Chelsea players, memories of this season will live long in the memory.

With Drogba set to depart and Blues icon Petr Cech also rumoured to have played his final game for the Blues, this was a unique opportunity for the Chelsea supporters to see the nexus of this great side together for one final time. But as has been abundantly clear throughout this season, the future is blindingly bright for this club.
