NCAA 2010 Playing Time Counts Toward Countable Hours (humor)

Josh DittonSep 2, 2009

I'm about to drop a bombshell on you.

The reason for Michigan football's allegations:  EA Sports' NCAA 2010.

I've got a couple quotes from anonymous players who feared repercussions from the coaching staff if this got out:

"The staff makes us play NCAA 2010 at least 3 hours a day, sometimes more." said a current Wolverine.

"They would say that playing the game was not mandatory" confessed another Wolverine, "but it was."

That's right folks - it seems as if players would gather at other players' houses and spend multiple hours at a time playing NCAA 2010 on their PlayStation 3.  The NCAA has rules and guidelines in place specifically designed from working players too hard and taking them away from their studies.

The NCAA includes time spent playing their videogames as countable hours in a 20-hour practice week.

"It's helping players with their hand-eye coordination" said a spokesman for the NCAA, the organization governing college athletics, "and we simply cannot have teams have better hand-eye coordination than other teams."

It has also been said that Rich Rod occaisonally showed up to these gatherings, sometimes bringing pizza and refreshments.

"If the coach is there, it's countable practice time" stated the NCAA spokesman.

Rodriguez was quoted as saying that he was only trying to promote bonding between teammates and hoped to foster good relationships with his players through the videogames.

"Violations like these are serious.  The coaching staff, according to our anonymous sources, routinely supported players hanging out and bonding with each other outside of mandatory practice." reported a writer for the Free Press.  "This is helping Michigan to gain an unfair advantage in football, and it cannot be tolerated."

As of now we have been waiting for official statements from head coach Rich Rodriguez, Bill Martin the athletic director, and university president Mary Sue Coleman - oh, and we also hoped Mickey Mouse would chime in on this, yeah, we're waiting for his official statement as well.

Michigan is slated to kick off the season against down-the-road opponent Western Michigan this Saturday at 3:30 pm in Michigan Stadium.

[I hope everyone realizes this is just some comic relief]
