IPL 2015: Top Run-Scorers, Wicket-Takers, Averages and More After Qualifier 1
Mumbai Indians became the first team to qualify for the Indian Premier League play-off final, beating Chennai Super Kings by 25 runs in Tuesday's Qualifier 1.
The 2013 champions started the season in dreadful form but have charged right back to the top of Twenty20 cricket in recent weeks, and their performance against Chennai ranks as one of their finest of the season.
Lendl Simmons, Kieron Pollard, Lasith Malinga and Harbhajan Singh all played a pivotal role in the win, which takes Mumbai directly to the final. Chennai will have the chance to join them by winning Qualifier 2, where they will meet the winner of the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals.

Standout Performers

Lendl Simmons, Kieron Pollard Set the Pace
Lendl Simmons took advantage of Chennai Super Kings' struggles with the ball early on, and Kieron Pollard's late burst ultimately gave Mumbai Indians a comfortable total of 187.
Simmons started things off with a patient 65 from 51 to give Mumbai a steady stream of runs, but ESPN Cricinfo's Freddie Wilde the West Indies star couldn't push his strike rate up when his team needed it:
Lendl Simmons is a good platform-layer but I doubt his ability to kick-on above & beyond a SR of 140. Good wicket for #MI. #IPL #CSKvMI #CSK
— Freddie Wilde (@fwildecricket) May 19, 2015
Once he lost his wicket, compatriot Pollard stepped in for a quick 41 from 17 at a time Chennai's bowlers had taken control of the innings.
Instead of limiting the damage, the Super Kings were suddenly looking at a big target against one of the most in-form group of bowlers.
Lasith Malinga, Harbhajan Singh Finish the Job
Defending such a lofty total, the duo of Lasith Malinga and Harbhajan Singh feasted on Chennai's batsmen, a group which was missing New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum.
Sri Lankan spinner Malinga took three wickets and gave up just 23 runs in four overs, while Singh grabbed two wickets of his own for 26. The duo attacked early and often and always seemed to come up with the big wicket whenever Chennai's batsmen found a rhythm.
There's a good chance Mumbai will meet the Super Kings again in the final, but if their two top bowlers can replicate Tuesday's performance, Indians won't be scared of whichever team survives Qualifier 2.
