Standout Performers

Mumbai Bowlers Set Up Victory
With plenty on the line in Sunday's match against Sunrisers, Mumbai would have been eager to see Hyedrabad's top-performing openers fall early.
Things could barely have gone better, as David Warner fell to Mitchell McClenaghan for just six and Shikhar Dhawan was bowled out by Lasith Malinga for one.
As ESPN Cricinfo's Freddie Wilde notes, the pair have proved vital for Sunrisers in the 2015 IPL:
"Dhawan & Warner run-per-match for #SRH: Today: 7 Before Today: 60, 105, 30, 78, 19, 98, 59, 51, 145, 46, 31, 107, 79 #IPL #SRHvMI #MI
— Freddie Wilde (@fwildecricket) May 17, 2015"
With the openers dispatched early, Malinga, McClenaghan and Jagadeesha Suchith proceeded to rip through the Hyderabad batting order, taking seven wickets between them.
Sunrisers could get no momentum going, with Lokesh Rahul top-scoring with just 25. They were eventually all out for 113 off the last ball of the innings, and Mumbai were in the driving seat.
Simmons and Patel Manufacture Easy Chase
It could easily have become very tense for Mumbai had they lost early wickets, but Lendl Simmons and Parthiv Patel batted admirably to set up an easy win and confirm a play-off spot.
The West Indian and his Indian opening partner scored at a decent rate—much faster than necessary—putting together a vital partnership of 106 that took their side most of the way to victory.
Simmons was dismissed by Karn Sharma in the 14th over, but Rohit Sharma came in to partner Patel as the Indians got over the line with ease.
Patel finished unbeaten on 51 from 37 balls, while Simmons' knock included two sixes and four fours before he fell for 48.
It was a simple win in the end for Mumbai, one set up by good bowling but sealed thanks to terrific professionalism from their two openers.
