The Connecticut Huskies have two prized recruits, Jalen Adams and Steve Enoch, joining their ranks this year, but Kevin Ollie's biggest addition for the upcoming season didn't come on the recruiting trail.
Sterling Gibbs, considered by many to be among the top transfers in this college basketball offseason, announced Saturday that he's heading to Storrs:

Demand for Gibbs' services hit a fever pitch almost immediately after it became apparent he'd be leaving the Seton Hall Pirates. His immediate eligibility made him an attractive transfer for schools harboring NCAA tournament hopes in 2015-16.
Gibbs spoke about his decision to join the Huskies with Dom Amore of the Hartford Courant:
"With this one, I really wanted to ask questions and make sure it was a perfect fit. I didn’t want to just be wowed by the campus or the facilities, because I’ve been through that already. … I knew, going in, I didn’t want to commit on one of my visits, because the whole point of a visit is to kind of wow you.

Just based upon how the coaches are, a really close-knit group. The players are a really close-knit group. Coach Ollie has been through it, the college season, the NBA, he’s experienced all those things, as well as their success with guards - a list of guards who have gone to the NBA and have been able to be successful. Their body of work speaks for itself.
"
Gibbs averaged 16.3 points and 3.8 assists for the Pirates last year. His three-point shooting also saw a marked increase, going from 34.4 percent in 2012-13 to 43.6 percent.
Alex Kline of The Recruit Scoop feels that the combination of Gibbs and Adams makes UConn a serious threat in the upcoming season:
"UConn just became very relevant with a dangerous scoring backcourt of Jalen Adams & Sterling Gibbs.

Adams and Gibbs already look to be building a strong relationship:
Ollie has certainly had the magic touch with Huskies guards in the past, and CBS Sports' Sam Vecenie ventures that that may have played a role in Gibbs' decision:
"Not hard to see what Sterling Gibbs sees in UConn. Lamb, Kemba, Shabazz all 1st rounders. Price, Dyson made NBA, Boatright in CHI this week.
— Sam Vecenie (@Sam_Vecenie) May 16, 2015"
Connecticut won only 20 games last year after winning the national title in 2013-14. Some level of decline was expected with the departures of Shabazz Napier and DeAndre Daniels.
With the amount of talent Ollie has brought in, the Huskies are positioning themselves as one of the teams to beat. Ollie's coaching ability is without question, and now that he has the horses to make the team go, UConn will be a fun team to watch next year.
