Ramos to Miss Rest of the Season

In the aftermath of Real Madrid's 1-1 draw with Juventus, which saw Los Blancos eliminated 3-2 on aggregate, Marca revealed Ramos "played the entire second half with the soleus muscle in his calf ripped."
With that said, he will sit out the side's upcoming La Liga ties with Espanyol and Getafe, two matches which will be rendered meaningless if Barcelona beat Atletico Madrid on Sunday, claiming the domestic title in the process.

Madrid posted an update on Ramos' condition: "Following tests carried out today on Sergio Ramos at the Sanitas La Moraleja Hospital, he has been diagnosed with a grade 1 muscle injury in the soleus in his left leg. His condition will be evaluated."
Carlo Ancelotti deployed Ramos in central midfield during the first-leg loss to Juventus, a tactical decision which saw Real's centre easily overrun. Although the Spaniard is capable of playing at right-back, his powerful, dominant frame is best utilised in central defence, where his passing benefits from a full view of the pitch.
Ramos has made 35 appearances for Real Madrid in all competitions this season, recorded by WhoScored.com. He previously picked up a hamstring injury during the Feb. 4 win over Sevilla, failing to appear in another match until Mar. 15.

Despite a disappointing, most likely trophyless season, Ramos remains a leader at the Bernabeu. Players come and go at Madrid, but since his arrival a decade ago, the World Cup winner has remained an integral part of the capital side's defence.
He will be missed during the season's finale, but the silver lining for Madrid is that he is unlikely to be absent from games of significant importance.
