IPL 2015 Results: Scores, Points Table, Schedule, More After May 9 Double-Header
Kolkata Knight Riders took the Indian Premier League lead from Chennai Super Kings with a one-wicket win over Kings XI Punjab on Saturday, hours before Sunrisers Hyderabad secured a narrow win over Delhi Daredevils.
Kings XI kept their clash with Kolkata exciting until the very last over, where Sunil Narine was forced to bat with his team needing just one more run from the final two deliveries. The West Indies star succeeded, bringing an end to one of the most exciting matches of this year's IPL season.
Delhi's clash with Hyderabad didn't disappoint, either, as Moises Henriques' unbeaten 74 ultimately led Sunrisers to a six-run win and a spot in the top four of the standings.

Sunrisers Hyderabad Hold on to Beat Delhi Daredevils
3 of 4
Sunrisers Hyderabad (163/4) beat Delhi Daredevils (157/4) by six runs.
Moises Henriques' fantastic knock ultimately led Sunrisers Hyderabad to a close win over Delhi Daredevils, picking up two vital points in the play-ff race in the process.
Sunrisers' openers struggled to find a rhythm early, as Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner visibly struggled with the bouncy pitch in Raipur. The bowlers were enjoying themselves, aggressively attacking the batsmen with plenty of spin early.
Dhawan and Warner combined for 30 runs before they were both caught, and throughout the innings, Delhi would do a great job limiting batsmen in their opportunities of finding the boundary and pushing the run rate up.

There was one exception, however. Henriques played a phenomenal innings, finishing 74 from 46 and scoring nearly half of Hyderabad's runs. Henriques only found the boundary five times, but his patient work was vital in building the eventual total of 163, which was given the state of the pitch and Delhi's opportunistic bowling.
As shared by Alt Cricket, the Portuguese-born Australian was an unlikely hero to step up:

Jayant Yadav, Nathan Coulter-Nile and Zaheer Khan all put together strong performances with the ball, and Daredevils were as shocked as everyone that despite their fine innings, they were forced to chase such a large target.
Quinton de Kock got the chase off on the right foot, scoring 50 from 31 before he was stumped, but his team-mates failed to keep up with the pace. Shreyas Iyer failed to produce a single run, Yuvraj Singh fared little better and even JP Duminy disappointed with 12 from 16.

Kedar Jadhav and Saurabh Tiwary eventually got a productive pairing going, and with every passing over, they came closer and closer to the required run rate. Parvez Rasool bowled a fantastic match but was forced to sit too early with four overs under his belt, limiting Delhi's options.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled some fantastic yorkers in the penultimate over, as Delhi needed 16 more runs from the final six deliveries. Ishant Sharma kept his composure after giving up four on the first ball, helping Hyderabad to a close win over their direct rivals.
Duminy thought the chase was going well but gave credit to the Hyderabad bowlers for their late heroics, via ESPN Cricinfo:
"With three overs to go I thought we had a chance but Bhuvi bowled exceptionally and changed the game. They batted extremely well and ran between the wickets, kept us on our toes. 160 was definitely chaseable and we lost too many wickets upfront. Kedar batted exceptionally well but things didn't go our way. The pitch was slightly sticky at times.
"
Sunrisers needed a win badly to stay alive in the chase for the play-offs. Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians have shown improved form of late and remain the favourites to join the likes of Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings in the next round, but that shouldn't stop Hyderabad from believing in their chances.
Delhi have officially been knocked out of the play-off race following the result.
Kolkata Knight Riders Leave It Late to Beat Kings XI Punjab
4 of 4
Kolkata Knight Riders (184/9) defeat Kings XI Punjab (183/5) by one wicket (with one ball remaining)
Sunil Narine was the big hero for Kolkata, bowling a fantastic innings before scoring the winning run on the second-to-last delivery to push Knight Riders past Chennai Super Kings and into the IPL lead.
Narine bowled one of the best innings of the season, taking four wickets and giving up just 19 runs in four overs, but his effort would have been for naught if he didn't come through with the bat in the end.
Punjab's batsmen shelled Kolkata's vaunted group of bowlers in the first innings, as Narine received very little help from his fellow bowlers. Andre Russell in particular struggled, giving up 50 runs while taking just a single wicket.

Punjab's batsmen put together a strong performance as a group, although special praise should go to Glenn Maxwell and David Miller. Both picked up the strike rate tremendously and gave Kings XI's total a much-needed boost, scoring 43 from 22 and 27 from 11 not out, respectively.
When the innings were over, Kolkata were staring at an impressive total of 183, a big target to chase.
Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa tried to get the chase off on the right foot, but in the early overs, it seemed as if Knight Riders simply couldn't keep up with Punjab's high run rate.
It wasn't until Russell came to the crease that things changed. The West Indies slugger redeemed himself for his struggles with the ball, scoring a quick 51 from 21 to put the chase back on track.

A number of late wickets complicated matters, however, and with two balls left to be bowled, it was spinner Narine who needed to save the day. Narine hardly connected with the ball but made a dash for it anyway, and the fielder's throw for the stumps missed by a wide margin, giving Kolkata the win.
Once again, Knight Riders showed off their incredible depth on a day where several of the top stars struggled. Narine is still looking for his best form after a lengthy spell away from the game, but if this match was any indication, he could be catching steam at just the right time.
