IPL 2015 Results: Latest Scores, Points Table, Schedule After Chennai vs. Mumbai
Indian Premier League leaders Chennai Super Kings suffered a shock loss at the hands of Mumbai Indians on Friday, keeping the play-off race as exciting as ever.
Super Kings appeared to be cruising to a routine win until Pawan Negi gave up four sixes in the penultimate over, all but handing Mumbai a win after an exciting chase. Ravichandran Ashwin had taken all of the momentum away from Indians with two timely wickets, but their late burst carried them past the target of 158.
Mumbai have now won five consecutive matches after a nightmare start to the campaign and seem to be heating up just in time. Their massive showdown with Royal Challengers Bangalore could decide which teams join the likes of Chennai in this year's play-offs.

Mumbai Indians Rally to Beat IPL Leaders Chennai Super Kings
3 of 3
Mumbai Indians (159/4) beat Chennai Super Kings (158/5) by six wickets (with four balls remaining)
Mumbai Indians came back from an almost impossible position to record a six-wicket win over IPL leaders Chennai on Friday, jumping back into the IPL top four in the process.
Super Kings appeared to be cruising to a win before a single nightmare over swung all momentum to Mumbai, who easily finished things off in the final over.
Chennai won the toss and elected to bat, sending out Brendon McCullum and Dwayne Smith to start the innings. The latter got off to a difficult start, failing to build much of a rhythm, while the former scored 23 runs from 11 deliveries before being caught.
The Indians' bowlers did an excellent job limiting boundaries early, and while they weren't aggressively chasing wickets, Chennai's run rate soon dropped significantly. Not a single batsman would end up scoring in single digits, but midway through the innings, it looked as if none would add a significant amount of runs to the total.

The partnership of MS Dhoni and Pawan Negi changed everything, however. The two combined for 75 runs to push the total to 158, and given Chennai's excellent group of bowlers, such a total seemed safe enough.
Jagadeesha Suchith shone brightest with the ball for Mumbai, bowling four overs and giving up just 21 runs to go with one wicket. Marchant de Lange led Indians with 15 dot balls.
Lendl Simmons and Parthiv Patel got the chase off to a good start, both finding the boundary with consistency in the early innings. Mumbai's openers were aggressive early, quickly pushing their run rate well above Chennai's.
The IPL leaders turned toward star bowler Ravichandran Ashwin to halt their run, and the 28-year-old didn't disappoint, grabbing both of their wickets in quick succession. As shared by Custom Cricket, the two wickets blew the match wide open again:

Suddenly, Mumbai's chase started to flounder. Rohit Sharma couldn't turn the tide, and when Kieron Pollard was run out after the West Indies star contributed just a single run, the situation started to look dire.

Entering the 19th over, Mumbai needed 30 runs from 12 deliveries. But Negi had a nightmare with the ball in hand, giving up four sixes to Hardik Pandya and Ambati Rayudu to turn the match on its head.
Rayudu eventually smashed home the decisive four, winning Mumbai the match with four balls to spare.
Captain Dhoni refused to throw Negi under the bus, taking full responsibility for the decision to let him bowl in the 19th over, per ESPNcricinfo:
"I was pushed to take the decision (to bring Negi in the 19th) because our fast bowlers didn't bowl well. Negi has bowled well, he was under pressure, no problems that it didn't come through. It was more a tactical error. You will drop a few catches, it's bound to happen. But some fielders were not really in the field, it's important to give your 100%.
"
Mumbai just keep on winning after a horrible start to the season, and a victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore could prove decisive in the play-off race. Chennai keep dropping results, on the other hand, and while Super Kings still hold the IPL lead, one has to wonder how much longer that will be the case.
