
IPL 2015 Results: Scores, Latest Points Table and Schedule After May 7 Fixtures
Sunrisers Hyderabad moved to within one point of a playoff place in the IPL on Thursday as they beat Rajasthan Royals by seven runs in Mumbai.
Eoin Morgan was the key man for Sunrisers as they posted 201 for four batting first, the Englishman smashing 63 from 28 balls. Rajasthan had a challenge on their hands in the chase, and despite Steve Smith's 68, they eventually fell short.
In the day's later game, Kolkata Knight Riders moved into third position with a comfortable 13-run win over Delhi Daredevils. The batsmen for both sides struggled for rhythm on a turning pitch, but Yusuf Pathan's 42 from just 24 balls swayed the game in the favour of the Knight Riders.

Kolkata Coast to Victory Against Delhi

Kolkata Knight Riders (171/7) beat Delhi Daredevils (158/6) by 13 runs
It took a while for Kolkata Knight Riders to get going in this match against Delhi Daredevils, after they won the toss and decided to bat.
Openers Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa again helped put on a decent opening stand, but as has been the case in recent matches, neither were able to go on and make a massive score after getting starts.
Gambhir was dismissed in the fifth over for just 12, while Utahappa—although he made a respectable 32—was out in the ninth over after he was pinned in front by Amit Mishra. The latter used up 31 runs to make his score, meaning the rate was initially pretty slow going.
As noted by Cricbuzz, Mishra’s superb bowling was one of the key factors in snaffling early wickets:

The same applied for the next two men in, as neither Manish Pandey or Piyush Chawla—who each made 22—were unable to go on and notch a big total. Indeed, Kolkata’s inning didn’t really get going until the rumbustious Yusuf Pathan strode out to the crease and played a gem of an innings late on.
Pathan hit 42 from just 24 balls in the dying embers, an score which included three fours and three sixes. He was dismissed in the penultimate over, but then Indian’s big hitting—along with a quick-fire 17 off five deliveries from Johan Botha—ensured that Kolkata finished their 20 overs with a respectable total of 171 for seven.

The pitch didn’t seem like a great one to chase down a score on either and in the early stages of their response, Delhi were unable to muster any kind of rhythm. And as is so often the case in this dynamic format, that prompted a spike in frustrations and subsequently, wickets tumbled.
After trudging their way to 63 runs from 59 balls, the Daredevils lost two wickets in successive overs. First Manoj Tiwary fell for a ponderous 25 and just seven balls later, the dangerous Shreyas Iyer was back in the dugout for 40.
It was a position which they were unable to recover from, as skipper JP Duminy tried to up the ante, but was dismissed for 25. When both Kedar Jadhav (10) and the destructive Yuvraj Singh (0) were both out in the 14th over, any lingering hopes were extinguished; eventually Delhi finished up on 158 for six, 13 runs short of the Kolkata total.
Credit must go to the Knight Riders though, who utilised their spin options superbly on a turning track. Chawla was especially impressive, picking up four wickets for 32 runs, but the controlled influence of players like Sunil Narine and Brad Hogg were equally important in creating pressure.
Ultimately, on a day that the vast majority of batsmen struggled to accrue any momentum, the blitz from Pathan proved to be the difference between these two. His cameo pushed Kolkata towards a competitive total and helped them cement their own status in the top four spots, with the race for the playoffs really hotting up.
Sunrisers Defend Big Total to Beat Rajasthan Royals

Sunrisers Hyderabad (201/4) bt. Rajasthan Royals (194-7) by seven runs
Rajasthan Royals were looking to go top of the IPL standings with a win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in Mumbai on Thursday.
However, Hyderabad had their own motivations ahead of the game, needing a win to move within one point of the all-important top-four playoff places. In the end, it was they who triumphed with an important seven-run victory.
Rajasthan won the toss and elected to field first. They failed to take any early wickets as Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner made a decent start.
The opening pair put on 48 together before the Australian fell in the fifth over, caught behind by Sanju Samson off the bowling of compatriot Shane Watson.
Moises Enrique hit a solid-looking 20 before he was bowled by Pravin Tambe, ushering Eoin Morgan to the crease.
The England international smashed the ball to all areas, returning to form in some style having struggled for touch recently.
In the midsts of Morgan's onslaught—which included five sixes and four fours—Dhawan fell to James Faulkner after an impressive 54.
Morgan's 63 from just 28 balls was an immense innings, per cricket writer Freddie Wilde:

He eventually fell to Watson, but Ravi Bopara and Naman Ojha edged the Sunrisers past the 200 mark to pile the pressure on Rajasthan.

Sunrisers took the early wicket of Ajinkya Rahane in the first over, and Watson then fell for 12. Rajasthan fell behind the required run-rate early on, but Steve Smith looked to rectify the situation.
He hit an immense 68 from 40 balls, manoeuvring the ball between and over the Sunrisers fielders, hitting nine fours and two sixes.

It seemed that if Smith could bat until the end of the innings, the Royals would win. But Bopara dismissed the Australian in the 15th over, leaving Rajasthan 121-5. Faulkner chipped in with a valuable 30, but the Royals needed 57 to win from the last three overs.
Chris Morris smashed three sixes off the first three balls of the penultimate over to make things interesting.
But the Hyderabad bowlers hit their lengths well from there and eventually sealed the win by seven runs.
