Mayweather vs. Pacquiao's Latest Comments Before Weigh-in Results
On Friday, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao make history at the MGM Grand Garden Arena at the superfight's weigh-in spectacle.
It promises to be a tense time with plenty of quotes, smiles and evil stares as the two legends strip down to their briefs and hop on a scale. For the onlookers who paid hundreds upon hundreds of dollars to attend the spectacle, it will prove worth every penny too.
This historic meeting is more than a decade in the making. Some say it's too late, as both men are out of their prime years, but it's hard to imagine there could be more hype around the showdown years ago.
Of course, knowing the two men in the encounter and their surrounding camps, there are comments aplenty even before the weigh-in.

The onus of change for this fight falls on the shoulders of Pacquiao, who owns two losses over the course of his last five fights, although he's won three straight.
Mayweather doesn't need to change up anything, because his avoid-and-counter style has stood the test of time. He's not one to be overwhelmed by someone who throws a ton of punches, and the longer the fight wears on, the likelihood he wins increases.
Pac-Man and trainer Freddie Roach seem up to the challenge, though. Roach seems confident his fighter has what it takes no matter how Money acts, as captured by Greg Heakes of the AFP (h/t BusinessInsider.com):
"I have the winning formula for Manny. He (Mayweather) put on a lot of muscle for this fight. I think he will come out in early rounds and try to knock us out. He could also run all night. I have fallen asleep at a couple of his fights before. So I am ready for whatever he brings to the ring.
"
Based on Mayweather's past performances, though, he might be content to sit back and avoid what Pacquiao throws at him while adapting and looking for effective counters.
Alas, Roach didn't stop there. A point of contention between the two camps in past years seemed to be over drug testing, something Roach touched on from Pacquiao's point of view this camp, per ESPN's Dan Rafael:
Despite the wealth of tests and going against an undefeated opponent in the biggest fight of his career, Pacquiao doesn't sound too intimidated.
"I know I'm going to win the fight in the ring," Pacquiao said, per The Associated Press (via ESPN.com). "So relax."
Relaxing seems to be the last thing Mayweather's camp is doing going into the weigh-in and fight.
The always-entertaining Mayweather Sr. had his say on the bout, as ESPN.com's Calvin Watkins captures:
"Nothing’s gonna be hard about it," Mayweather Sr. said, per Yahoo Sports' Joe Garza. "It’s gonna be real easy, whether he’s left-handed or right-handed. Floyd is using his mind; Manny don’t use his mind. Manny uses his feet. That’s why he got clipped the last time."
But how does the globe feel about the fight? A good barometer is Las Vegas, which of course continues to receive epic action on one of the most anticipated fights in history. John Avello of Wynn race and sports tells ESPN.com's David Purdum it's impossible to know who will come out favored.
"Most of the big bets were on Mayweather, but now I've taken some big bets on Pacquiao, too," he said. "I don't know where this fight is going to end up going. I don't know if this thing is going to end up at a dollar eighty-five (minus-185) or if it's going to end up at (minus-)230."
So it goes when a known aggressor with an unorthodox style hops in the ring with a guy who makes his legendary career off a counter-happy style judges love.
It's easy to think Pacquiao can overwhelm and score a knockout, if not sway the judges, but it's just as easy to think Mayweather coasts to a higher percentage and decision on the scorecards, if not catches Pacquiao with a devastating blow if he's too confident in his attack.
This is also the byproduct of two legends with worldwide fanbases going at it. Friday's the appetizer to the main course, but it's the biggest appetizer in the sport's history as Pacquiao and Mayweather weigh-in and give the media and fans more and more to talk about before the big dance.
Enjoy the ride, because it's impossible to know if there will be a second one.
