IPL 2015 Results: Scores, Points Table, Schedule and More After April 30 Fixture
Kolkata Knight Riders moved up to third in the IPL 2015 standings on Thursday as they beat table-topping Chennai Super Kings by seven wickets at Eden Gardens.
Chennai lost Dwayne Smith to the first ball of the innings and lost a flurry of batsmen early on. They managed to keep up a decent scoring rate, though, and finished their 20 overs at 165 for nine.
KKR were slow in the chase early on and the required rate crept up in the first 10 overs. But Robin Uthappa found an able partner in Andre Russell, and the pair saw KKR home with a ball to spare.
Read on to see the latest standings following the match at Eden Gardens, along with the upcoming schedule and a recap of Thursday's play.

Kolkata Go Third with Win over Chennai Super Kings
3 of 3
Kolkata Knight Riders (169-3) bt. Chennai Super Kings (165-9) by seven wickets
Just two days ago Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders met at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, and the hosts prevailed by two runs in a nail-biting finish.
Kolkata were looking for speedy revenge at Eden Gardens, while CSK had the chance to go two points clear of Rajasthan Royals at the top of the IPL.
Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and elected to field first. Pat Cummins saw for opener Dwayne Smith in the first ball of the innings as the West Indian clubbed a catch to Ryan ten Doeschate.
But CSK's intentions were clear as they still managed to smash 19 from the first over. Suresh Raina fell for eight in the fourth over but Brendon McCullum was in the zone.
He hit three maximums on his way to a 12-ball 32 before he was trapped lbw by Brad Hogg. Faf du Plessis was also in big-hitting mode, but he also fell to Hogg to leave CSK 69 for four in the sixth over.
Skipper MS Dhoni went soon after, cleaned up by Piyush Chawla, before Dwayne Bravo and Ravindra Jadeja got something of a partnership going, keeping the runs ticking over.
Pawan Negi was very effective late on in the innings as he came in and smashed 27 from just 13 balls, but he and Jadeja both fell to Hogg in the penultimate over, and CSK finished with 165 from their 20 overs.

KKR started the chase steadily, and lost no early wickets. Robin Uthappa and Gautam Gambhir put on 33 together before the latter was carelessly caught by Ronit More at third man.
Gambhir's 19 runs took him past a significant landmark in his IPL career, per cricket statistician Mazher Arshad:
"G Gambhir completes 3000 runs in IPL in his 110th inns. He is third player to this milestone. Raina did it in 103 inns; R Sharma in 109 #IPL
— Mazher Arshad (@cricket_U) April 30, 2015"
Manish Pandey and Suryakumar Yadav were little help as they fell cheaply to leave Kolkata 57 for three in the 10th over, and struggling to score.
However, Andre Russell came to the crease to assist Uthappa, and he did it with aplomb. Uthappa kept the runs ticking over and breezed past the half-century mark.

Russell, meanwhile, opened up more, showing off his expansive hitting and sending the ball around the park. He smashed two massive sixes off Bravo in the 17th over to leave KKR with the relatively easy prospect of needing 20 runs to win from the last 19 balls.
It went down to the last over and they sealed the victory with one ball to spare, Uthappa finishing on 80 and Russell on 59.
Next up for KKR are Royal Challengers Bangalore, while Chennai will look to bounce back on Saturday against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
