Mayweather Promises Entertaining Bout

Given what’s at stake for both men, it’d be a major surprise to see either fighter come out swinging from the hip. For Mayweather especially, that kind of recklessness has never been part of his modus operandi, and subsequently he has occasionally been accused of being a little boring to watch.
However, speaking exclusively to AudioBoom, the undefeated American has confirmed that he will be looking to entertain fans on the night:
Whether these are hollow words remains to be seen. Indeed, the last time Mayweather scored a victory inside the scheduled distance was against Victor Ortiz in 2009. Nevertheless, UFC star Conor McGregor told Bleacher Report exactly how the American will get the job done:
Floyd is certainly a master of the defensive side of the sweet science, but if anyone is going to make this fight an aesthetic one, it’ll be Pacquiao. Manny is a boxer who loves to unsettle his opponent by increasing the tempo of the fight and will be keen to fluster Money in the opening exchanges.

As we can see here courtesy of ESPN, throughout his career the Filipino has looked to force the issue a lot more often than Floyd:
Manny needs to be careful not to stray from controlled aggression into recklessness, though. Mayweather is a frustrating man to box, with his array of debilitating tactics often prompting opponents into making rash decisions which have subsequently allowed the American to pick them off.

If Pacquiao does land, he has the quality and ferocity to follow up those shots. His lateral movement is sharp and his accuracy is underrated, and when he does get in the pocket he packs a lot of power in his punches.
There’s plenty of people who think he’s capable of getting the job done against Floyd too, as we can see here courtesy of Sky Sports Boxing:
Floyd has cut an unusually quiet figure in the buildup to this bout. While the swagger that comes part and parcel of “The Money Team” has been prevalent in Las Vegas all week, the cockiness that usually emits from every pore of Mayweather in the buildup to big fights has been noticeably scarce.
It’s something Manny’s trainer Freddie Roach has picked up on ahead of the showdown, insisting this is a matchup Mayweather doesn’t really want, via Ben Dirs of BBC Sport:
"I really am wondering if he's going to turn up on the night. I don't think any fighter is afraid, but I don't think he wanted this fight. He was forced into a fight he didn't want to take.
I just don't know why Floyd has gone quiet for this fight. His speech is very subdued.
"

This is a bout that sells itself, though, as has been evident by the unrelenting and intensive coverage. However, given the experience these two possess, don’t expect this bout to be determined by anything other than the work put in by the fighters in the buildup to Saturday’s showpiece and their fundamental boxing talents.
Manny has the class to spring a surprise here. He brings a lot of qualities to the table that Mayweather has never had to contend with previously. Provided he channels his aggression at the right times in the fight, the Filipino will be able to win a lot of rounds through his unique ferocity.
Prediction: Pacquaio wins on points
