In February, per The Associated Press and ESPN.com, Jones pleaded not guilty to charges of rape and sodomy during a court appearance after turning himself in.
Louisville head coach Rick Pitino originally suspended Jones in February for "matters unrelated to basketball," per ESPN.com's Jeff Goodman.
The team reinstated Jones on February 20, after he missed one game, but dismissed him two days later, as Louisville senior associate athletic director Kenny Klein announced in a statement. Wolfson reported on February 27 the Cardinals guard was arrested for allegedly raping and sodomizing two different women.
The 23-year-old Jones spent two seasons at Louisville, averaging 11.8 points in 59 games before the program dismissed him.
