Pacquiao vs. Mayweather: Midweek Odds, Weigh-in Schedule and Fight Prediction
We're just three days away from what many are calling the biggest sports day in history. On May 2, America will partake in major league baseball, the NHL and NBA playoffs, the Kentucky Derby and a fairly big boxing match between a couple of guys you may have heard about.
Floyd "Money" Mayweather will face Manny "Pac-Man" Pacquiao at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for the mythical pound-for-pound title. This fight transcends any and every barrier of race, social status and interest level in the sport.
You can ask someone with even the most remote interest in the sport if he or she knows about this bout, and just about everyone can speak to it to some degree. Just as almost everyone has some level of knowledge of this megafight, almost as many have a prediction.
Celebrities such as Mark Wahlberg and Shaquille O'Neal give their picks in the video below.
It seems most, as do I, expect Mayweather to emerge victorious. Mayweather's size, in-ring IQ and defensive prowess should be enough to frustrate Pacquiao and lead to a unanimous-decision victory. If Mayweather decides to be more aggressive in the mid-to-late rounds, he'll have a chance to stop his opponent, but he must be careful, as Pacquiao will still be a dangerous adversary.
As of Tuesday evening, Mayweather was still the favorite. Per Odds Shark, he's listed at 7-20 odds. Pacquiao is a 9-4 underdog. It'll be interesting to see how the odds fluctuate leading up to fight night. There seems to be some level of change on a day-to-day basis, though Mayweather has maintained his status as the favorite throughout the pre-fight hype.
The next event of major significance will be the weigh-in Friday night. It's expected to be a crazy spectacle as the fight that once seemed like a dream draws just hours away from becoming a reality.

Don't think the weigh-in is a big deal? Check out this tweet from ESPN.com's Darren Rovell:
The weigh-in will be televised by HBO. Here's the information needed to view it unless you're one of the 10,000 who scored a ticket to the historic event.
Date and Time (ET): Friday, May 1, at 6 p.m.
TV: HBO
Weight Limit: 147 lbs (Welterweight)
Quite honestly, it seems almost impossible for this fight to live up to the hype. To match the buildup, Mayweather and Pacquiao would both have to be bloodied, with the score tied on all three judges' scorecards, as they head into a 12th round that sees them score a simultaneous knockdown.
The good thing is that simply seeing the two fighters stand in the ring across from each other is going to be surreal.
It's almost time.
