IPL 2015 Results: Scores, Updated Points Table, Schedule After April 22 Fixtures
Sunrisers Hyderabad were led home by the duo of David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan in a 16-run win over Kolkata Knight Riders (via D/L method) on Wednesday, bagging their second victory of the 2015 Indian Premier League season in the process.
The pair feasted on Kolkata's bowlers, combining for 145 runs as Hyderabad put up a strong target of 176. Knight Riders never came close to the required 118 runs from 12 overs, as the Sunrisers' bowlers took command of the second half of their innings and preserved the win.
Royal Challengers Bangalore took a beating from Chennai Super Kings in Wednesday's late match, another setback for a team that had high expectations coming into the season.
The Super Kings look like potential IPL winners with their combination of deadly bowling and explosive batting, and certainly Bangalore were no match on Wednesday.

Chennai Super Kings Dominate Royal Challengers Bangalore
3 of 4
Chennai Super Kings (181/8) beat Royal Challengers Bangalore (154/8) by 27 runs.
Chennai Super Kings easily dominated last-placed Royal Challengers Bangalore during Wednesday's late match, drawing within two points of league leaders Rajasthan Royals in the process.
Super Kings have looked like potential IPL champions all season, and certainly both their batting and bowling units fired against Bangalore.
Brendon McCullum was dismissed on the seventh delivery he faced, but Chennai's fantastic depth easily made up for his loss. Dwayne Smith (39 from 29) and Suresh Raini (62 from 32) had the team on pace for 180-plus runs early before the engine started to falter somewhat in the middle overs.
The loss of MS Dhoni for just 13 runs in particular hurt, as the Indian star was caught by AB de Villiers. Yuzvendra Chahal was the star with the ball for Royal Challengers with three wickets, while Mitchell Starc conceded just 26 runs in four overs.

But Faf du Plessis got Chennai back on track in the latter overs, pushing the total over 180. With the Super Kings' bowling attack in fantastic form so far during the tournament and in the absence of Chris Gayle, via ESPN Cricinfo's Freddie Wilde, the Bangalore chase seemed doomed from the start:
"Chris Gayle, Abu Nechim and Varun Aaron are out for #RCB; Mitchell Starc, Sarfraz Khan & Harshal Patel are in. #IPL #RCBvCSK #CSK
— Freddie Wilde (@fwildecricket) April 22, 2015"
Bangalore's batsmen got off to a reasonable start in their innings, but while Chennai didn't pick up any immediate wickets, their bowlers did a superb job limiting boundaries.
And when Ashish Nehra took two wickets in the same over, the floodgates opened:
"In this run fest, #Nehra has just bowled two brilliant overs! Whistles please! #CSK #whistlepodu #IdhuNammaSeason
— Chennai Super Kings (@ChennaiIPL) April 22, 2015"
Bangalore's chase never got off the ground, and while Virat Kohli's effort was commendable (51 from 42), Chennai's bowlers had no difficulty containing Royal Challengers' batsmen.
Nehra's final figures of 4-10 will stand as one of the best bowling figures in this year's IPL.

Kohli was understandably disappointed with his team's effort, as reported by ESPN Cricinfo:
"There's not much I can say at this point. We've really disappointed ourselves more than anyone else and we've not really performed as a group. We have to have a talk about it with the team and can't afford to lose matches like this. It's about stringing partnerships…whenever we started a partnership we lost a wicket. We need to take them from 25 to 50-70. The guys need to bee smarter and set themselves up, especially in Bangalore. Having Mitchell back was a big plus, Harshal bowled well, and Iqbal and Chahal got wickets too.
"
Chennai move back within two points of IPL leaders Rajastan Royals, while Bangalore languish in last place. The play-offs are a distant dream for the Royal Challengers at this point, while Chennai's bowling attack has them on pace to easily qualify for the next round.
Sunrisers Score Early, Easily Beat Kolkata
4 of 4
Sunrisers Hyderabad (176/4) beat Kolkata Knight Riders (101/4) by 16 runs (D/L method).
David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan put together another fantastic performance at the top of the order for Hyderabad, putting on 145 runs as they cruised to a 16-run win over Kolkata.
As shared by cricket blogger Mohandas Menon, the duo set a new IPL record in the process:
"Shikhar Dhawan & David Warner become the first opening pair to put on three 100+ opening stands in #IPL history! #SRHvKKR
— Mohandas Menon (@mohanstatsman) April 22, 2015"
Dhawan managed 54 runs from 46 balls, but team-mate Warner stole the show. His 91 from 55 for a strike rate of 165,45 put Kolkata in an early hole, and when it was their time to bat, they never managed to dig themselves out of it.
News.com.au shared some highlights of the Australian's afternoon, which included a total of 13 boundaries:

Warner and Dhawan would eventually both be caught, and Naman Ojha was the only other Sunrisers batsman to manage double-digit runs as Morne Morkel and Johan Botha started to find their footing.

The result was a total of 176, and after a lengthy delay due to heavy rain, Kolkata were sent out to bat with a revised target of 118 from 12 overs.
Knight Riders didn't have the worst start to their chase, with Robin Uthappa striking the ball well and Manish Pandey joining in on the action. But the swift dismissal of Gautam Gambhir, whose form has taken a hit in the last week, all but doomed Kolkata.

Dale Steyn and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were aggressively seeking wickets, with varying success, but by the latter overs, Kolkata were well behind the required run rate. Yusuf Pathan was surprisingly pushed down the order and couldn't turn the tide, as he was caught on the eighth ball he faced, and the chase eventually ground to a halt with 16 runs still required.
Hyderabad rise all the way to fourth on the table following the result, with three teams currently sitting on four points. The race for the play-offs looks as tight as ever, but Wednesday's result could prove vital down the line.
