Burrows Has Fractured, Displaced Rib
Monday, April 27
Ben Kuzma of The Province spoke to Burrows, who said that he was diagnosed with a fractured and displaced rib and would need six to eight weeks to recover.
Jason Botchford of The Province passed along more comments from Burrows, who said that the original injury occurred at the end of Game 3, but when he took a shot to the injury the day of Game 4, it "really went out of place."
Burrows suffered the injury on April 21, and at the time, Kuzma described the scene at practice.
Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Sun described the scene Tuesday, prior to the diagnosis:
Andy Graziano of IslandersInsight.com reported the following:
Burrows, 34, had played his part in the team's series against the Flames, notching two assists in Game 2's 4-1 victory. In the regular season, he scored 18 goals and added 15 assists in 70 games for Vancouver. Without Burrows, the Canucks fell 4-2 in their series against the Flames.
With the Canucks' season over, Burrows will have plenty of time to heal up before next season.
