Arsenal Transfer News: Paulo Dybala Bid Confirmed, Latest Marco Reus Rumours

Tom SunderlandApr 21, 2015

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has confirmed Arsenal are among the clubs to have already fielded offers for Paulo Dybala's services, but the Gunners could be beaten in their pursuit of Marco Reus.

Zamparini spoke to Canal Plus (h/t ITV) this week, adding that Juventus were also among the outfits interested in Dybala, who is sure to leave the Sicilian side:

"Will he stay? No, because the player and his agent aspire to a big club, and they're right to do so. I've already received at least four offers. Two were from Italian clubs, and two were from abroad, and they include Arsenal and Juventus."

Although it's confirmed Arsenal are in the hunt for Dybala, there's no word as of yet in regard to how their bid sizes up alongside those others also vying for the young attacker.

However, Zamparini has told suitors how much it will cost to prise his starlet away, per Metro, having slapped a massive £36 million price tag on his signature:

Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Goal.com's Gill Clark) quoted Dybala's agent, Gustavo Mascardi, on Monday, asserting Chelsea have tabled a £28.8 million bid, with Paris Saint-Germain making their own offer worth £32.4 million.

As David Amoyal of GianlucaDiMarzio.com points out, the fact that his wage demands would be less substantial than that of more established names may boost Dybala's hopes for a Palermo exit:

Some may find it strange to see Arsenal showing such initiative in the transfer market although last summer's capture of Alexis Sanchez showed the direction the Gunners were moving in when it comes to purchasing policy.

Should Dybala seal a move to north London, however, he may not be the only starlet arriving after Bleacher Report's James McNicholas discussed the potential of Argentine prodigy Maxi Romero:

Dybala would be an even more exciting pickup than his younger countryman, however, and it's assured he would have more immediate impact, having bagged 13 goals and 10 assists in 30 Serie A outings this term.

Real Madrid Ready to Invest in Marco Reus

Despite signing a new contract at Signal Iduna Park earlier this year, Marco Reus could be primed for a Borussia Dortmund exit this summer, and Real Madrid are already looking to steal his talents.

According to Spanish newspaper AS (h/t Joe Short of Daily Express), Los Blancos will offer the Black and Yellows £25 million for their star, which was the value of the release clause in Reus' previous contract.

Prior to agreeing his extension, it looked as though "Rolls Reus" would be allowed to leave for that quite paltry sum, but it now seems Dortmund will be able to charge a more appropriate amount for his signature.

As Short reports, Arsenal are one of four Premier League teams in the running for the Germany international, but Spanish daily Sport revealed Real may already hold an edge:

Arsene Wenger's team would be more ready to guarantee Reus playing time in the Premier League while Barcelona aren't permitted to purchase any players before their transfer embargo expires in January 2016.

However, Carlo Ancelotti's side would be a difficult rival to contend with, as Messi Minutes reveals another small factor which could affect any potential deal:

Wenger may look to Mesut Ozil and Per Mertesacker to do their part in convincing Dortmund's gem of a north London switch although a bidding war against Los Merengues doesn't look appetising for the Gunners.

With the release clause now scrapped from his deal, sealing a deal for Reus may well ultimately come down to a case of who can offer the most, and Real can be considered one of Europe's most resourceful sides in those terms.

Jurgen Klopp's departure from Borussia Dortmund this summer may leave many within his current crop questioning their futures at the Westfalenstadion, with the tactician having been the face of a highly prosperous era.

Arsenal would be only too willing to capitalise on any discontent, however, and a deal for Reus will ride high on their list of priorities should the attacker seek a move away from his current setting.
