Juventus Striker Carlos Tevez Finally Admits He Behaved Badly at Manchester City
Manchester City certainly could have done with Carlos Tevez this season.
The English champions have slumped to fourth in the table, while the Argentine has been sensational yet again in firing Juventus to the brink of another title.
Tevez left City under a cloud in 2013 after his relationship with then-manager Roberto Mancini broke down.
He was once famously spotted playing golf while absent without leave. In 2011, Mancini said Tevez was "finished" at the club after the striker refused to come off the bench during a match with Bayern Munich.
Mancini later backtracked, and Tevez helped City win the title in 2012.
Now, in an interview with Italian newspaper La Repubblica, Tevez has finally admitted that his behaviour at the Etihad was not the best.
His quotes about Manchester City were translated by BT Sport Italian football pundit James Horncastle:
"Tevez in La Repubblica: I made mistakes at City. There was no longer any trust between us + reacted by disappearing. I behaved badly, I know
— James Horncastle (@JamesHorncastle) April 13, 2015"
Tevez also said he found it easier to score in the Premier League than in Serie A:
"Tevez:it’s much easier to score in the PLge.The ball continually comes & goes. The midfield doesn’t exist. You only think about scoring
— James Horncastle (@JamesHorncastle) April 13, 2015"
However, any English club hoping to sign him will likely end up disappointed, as he plans to return to former club Boca Juniors in Argentina.
Again to La Repubblica, this time via talkSPORT:
"My whole family and I are Boca fans and I want to play in that shirt once again.
I don't know when, but I will return home. I've been in Europe for many years and I need my family - I miss my father, my mother and my brother.
I can't complain as everyone has treated me well, but my mentality is Argentine and my desire is to go back to Buenos Aires.
