USMNT Watch: Yedlin Makes Tottenham Debut, Guzan Records Clean Sheet
The center of the United States men's national team universe was White Hart Lane this weekend as a bright prospect made his debut for Tottenham Hotspur.
After being named to the matchday squad for the first time, DeAndre Yedlin came on for the final 11 minutes of Spurs' 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa.
Yedlin's first match in a Tottenham shirt came four days before another meaningful date on the USMNT calendar, as the Yanks host Mexico in San Antonio on Wednesday night.

Yedlin Debuts, Guzan Records Clean Sheet
After garnering buzz before the match for his inclusion in the 18, Yedlin made his way on to the pitch for Vlad Chiriches in the 79th minute.
Yedlin almost had a nightmare of an appearance, but he was helped out by Spurs goalkeeper Michel Vorm, who denied a Fabian Delph shot after Yedlin fell in the box in the 85th minute.
Other than that brief display of nerves, Yedlin turned in a solid shift in the defeat.
If all goes well over the next 12 months, he could be one of two Americans in the club's setup; 17-year-old Cameron Carter-Vickers is currently turning heads at the U21 level.
On the other side of the pitch on Saturday was Brad Guzan, who earned a key shutout in between the pipes for the Villans. The USMNT No. 1 'keeper made three saves as Villa remained six points clear of the relegation zone.

Geoff Cameron played all 90 minutes of Stoke City's 1-1 draw with West Ham United, while Tim Howard started and was beaten on a penalty in Everton's 1-1 tie at Swansea City.
In the Championship, Tim Ream delivered an impressive shift in Bolton Wanderers' 2-1 loss to Norwich City. Jonathan Spector also went the full 90 for Birmingham City. Danny Williams did not feature for Reading, but he does have an opportunity to shine at Wembley Stadium in the FA Cup semifinals against Arsenal on Saturday.
Roster for Mexico Match Released Sunday Night
The 22-man roster for the USMNT's friendly against Mexico was named Sunday night during halftime of the LA Galaxy's win over Seattle.
Before the Galaxy and Sounders faced off on Sunday, plenty of USMNT candidates made their final case to make the roster.
The most impressive showing came from D.C. United midfielder Perry Kitchen, who bagged a brace in his team's 2-2 draw with the New York Red Bulls. Unfortunately for the Black and Red, Bill Hamid made a mistake in the 90th minute that led to the game-tying goal.

Jermaine Jones returned to action for the New England Revolution, playing the first 45 minutes of the 0-0 draw with Columbus.
Elsewhere, Brad Davis produced an assist on Houston's first goal in the 3-0 victory over Montreal, Chris Wondolowski played 64 minutes of San Jose's 1-0 win over Vancouver and Mix Diskerud went 90 for New York City FC.
In the showcase match of the night, Benny Feilhaber, Nick Rimando, Matt Besler and Kyle Beckerman all played 90 minutes in the scoreless draw between Sporting Kansas City and Real Salt Lake. RSL's Luis Gil featured for the first 64 minutes.
Omar Gonzalez was one of the standout performers in LA's victory over the rival Sounders.
Mixed Results in Germany's Race for Europe
Fabian Johnson and Borussia Monchengladbach moved one step closer to securing a UEFA Champions League spot on Saturday, beating Borussia Dortmund 3-1. Johnson was on the pitch for the first 77 minutes of the match.

Eintracht Frankfurt lost ground in the race for the final European place with a 3-0 loss to Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena. Timmy Chandler played the entire match for the eighth-placed side, who are four points out of the last UEFA Europa League qualifying spot.
In Friday's lone Bundesliga match, John Brooks put in a 90-minute shift for Hertha Berlin in their 1-1 road draw with Hannover.
Consistency Continues in Mexico
Action for the Mexico-based USMNT players began on Friday, when Queretaro downed Club Tijuana 2-1.
Jonathan Bornstein, Greg Garza and Joe Corona all earned starts for their respective sides. Only Corona failed to last all 90 minutes, as he was subbed off by Xolos in the 58th minute.
Michael Orozco and Herculez Gomez both featured in starting roles for Puebla, while Ventura Alvarado came off the bench for a 20-minute cameo in Club America's 1-1 draw with Monterrey.
Edgar Castillo went the distance in Atlas' 0-0 draw with Toluca.
