Bleacher Report scored the contest 115-113 for Peterson.

Garcia (30-0, 17 KO) battled back from a severely swollen and battered right eye and withstood a brutal onslaught from Peterson in the final two rounds to remain undefeated.

According to CompuBox tracking, Garcia out-threw Peterson 589-494 and landed three more punches over the course of 12 rounds.

Peterson (33-3-1, 17 KO) didn’t get a lot of credit for his work in the early rounds, which included plenty of lateral movement and jabs to frustrate Garcia and knock him off his rhythm.

Of the two judges that scored the fight for Garcia, one gave him five of the first six rounds and the other gave him all six. That margin was too much for Peterson to overcome in the second half where he was the stronger, more physical fighter.

Peterson seemed to have Garcia in trouble late in the fight, but he couldn’t close the show and was saddled with what’s certainly a bitter defeat.

In the co-feature, WBO middleweight champion Andy Lee and former champion Peter Quillin battled to a draw in a wild, action-packed fight filled with knockdowns and scintillating exchanges.

Scores were 114-112 for Lee, 113-112 for Quillin and 113-113.

Bleacher Report scored the contest 113-112 for Lee.

Lee (34-2-1, 24 KO) fought in his prototypical style. He was dropped in Rounds 1 and 3, looked out of the fight and then mounted a huge rally down the stretch to secure the draw.

Quillin (31-0-1, 22 KO) appeared in control of the fight at the midway point but faded badly down the stretch. He was knocked down for the first time in his professional career in Round 7.

Neither fighter seemed to have much problem with the draw in the ring during post-fight interviews.

“There’s a reason why judges are judges. They see it their way. I respect the decision,” Quillin said.

Punchstat numbers showed a pretty even fight.

Lee connected on 113 of 299 shots according to CompuBox, while Quillin connected on 103 of 267. Kid Chocolate had a 79-76 edge in power connects.

Lee retains his WBO Middleweight Championship, which wasn’t on the line after Quillin missed weight on Friday.
