Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
We begin with proof of just how big NXT is getting. When Florida Championship Wrestling was WWE's developmental brand, it didn't get NBA teams' attention. Things have changed.
The Phoenix Suns' Twitter account tipped its hat to forward Gerald Green using an Enzo Amore GIF:
The only issue is that the statement here isn't accurate. You can in fact teach someone how to shoot three-pointers. It's called coaching.
Still, it's nice to see NXT get some play outside of Full Sail University.
Like Amore, Crowe sports an odd look. Crowe doesn't have leopard spots shaved into his head, but when his hair is all spiked up like an anime character, it certainly attracts attention. Crowe's hair was subdued during an event in Tampa, Florida, but the look on his face wasn't.
Crowe unsettled a young fan, making for a fun shot on Instagram:
Balor left Florida and the confines of NXT as he joined the main roster on WWE's European tour. WWE posted a great shot of him during his entrance at a house show in Dublin:
Bray Wyatt's entrance created a lasting image as well. He was in action in Dublin and the "fireflies" in the audience made their presence felt:
Sheamus, new look and all, headed to Ireland, too. He used Twitter to help explain his recent actions. After attacking Dolph Ziggler and Daniel Bryan for being runts, fans were quick to dub him "heel."
The Celtic Warrior sees things differently. He clarified what he is via a tweet:
If Sheamus ends up taking on The Showoff at Extreme Rules, there's a good chance that match ends with the Spanish announce table in ruin. That piece of furniture rarely makes it through a big show still intact.
At the gimmick-heavy Extreme Rules, the table has no chance to be on four legs by the end of the night.
WWE compiled an entertaining collection of big moments where wrestlers crashed through it. Mick Foley features prominently in this mayhem-filled video:
A man who Foley clashed with on TNA TV contributed to the week's most sharable WWE-related social media as well. Bischoff provided a look back at him pre-WWE, pre-WCW and pre-adulthood.
He poked fun at himself, posting a picture of him doing a magazine ad:
"Before and after (a whole lot of life!) pic.twitter.com/FbQeHB0RLF
— Eric Bischoff (@EBischoff) April 5, 2015"
Back then, one would have never guessed that one day Bischoff would be challenging for the WWE title. Even after he entered the wrestling world, though, his title chance against John Cena was still a shock.
That bout is among those featured on a YouTube video highlighting the most unexpected WWE title challengers:
Watching both Spike Dudley and Stephanie McMahon get cracks at the title has to make a guy like Zack Ryder crazy. Sometimes it pays to be an underdog it seems.
As strange as it is to say, there's more of a chance now of Ryder challenging Seth Rollins than McMahon and AJ going to battle. The former Divas champ quietly left the company over the weekend.
The news that the talented Diva is walking away was no fun, but her farewell was quality stuff:
With as good as she has been at spitting fire on the mic, it's no surprise that she delivered such a poignant salute as she stepped out the door. Here's hoping that she has success wherever she goes next.
