Eric Berry's Brother Evan Speaks on Chiefs Star's Battle with Lymphoma
Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry continues to make progress in his recovery from Hodgkin's lymphoma and only has a few more treatments to go, according to an update from his brother, Evan, who plays college football at the University of Tennessee.
Terez A. Paylor of The Kansas City Star passed along comments the younger Berry brother made Tuesday during a meeting with the media in Knoxville, Tennessee.
"He's doing really good," Evan Berry said. "I think he has three more treatments left. To be honest, I don't really see it affecting him. He's a very strong person, and he's continued to keep strong."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Eric's positive outlook helped Evan get through the initial shock of the diagnosis, the younger brother told reporters.
"It was scary," he said. "But he wasn't worried, so I wasn't worried."

The Chiefs drafted Eric Berry with the fifth overall pick in the 2010 draft. He quickly established himself as one of the league's best safeties and was named to the Pro Bowl in each of his three full seasons. He missed almost the entire 2011 campaign after tearing the ACL in his left knee during the Chiefs' Week 1 contest against the Buffalo Bills.
In 2014, he played in six games before suffering chest discomfort. He was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma, which ended his season.
Based on his brother's comments, it sounds like Berry is now making promising progress down the road to a full recovery.
