Dubai World Cup 2015 Results: Winners, Top Payouts, Order of Finish from Meydan
Favourite California Chrome (5/4 f) failed to win the $10 million Dubai World Cup on Saturday, finishing second behind Prince Bishop (14/1) in the 20th edition of the world's richest race.
The colt, who came close to winning last year's Triple Crown, raced wide for the entirety of the race and never threatened for the win on the dirt of Meydan. Lea (4/1) finished third, but pundits and punters alike could only talk of California Chrome's loss. TV presenter Matt Chapman was beyond disappointed:
As shared by Channel 4 Racing, the winning margin was significant:

The Dubai World Cup night has quickly become one of the most highly anticipated events of the racing year, with the final race, the $10 million World Cup, being the richest race on the calendar. Three-time winner Frankie Dettori told Channel 4 Racing nothing compares to the pressure the riders feel ahead of the start:
After last year's Cinderella run through the Triple Crown, where California Chrome ultimately fell short, fans were eager to see how the American colt would fare on the Dubai dirt, going up against a strong field of competitors.
California Chrome was tag-teamed early and pushed well wide, and while a second-place finish sounds like failure for one of the most hyped horses of the past decade, Daily Racing Form's Jay Privman was still impressed given the amount of ground he was forced to cover:
That said, California Chrome ran wide on purpose to avoid traffic throughout the Triple Crown last year, and his owners were more than happy being drawn outside, per RacingPost.com's Tom Kerr.
California Chrome's owners will be hoping for another big year from their prized horse, but while the colt's power and speed are still clearly on display, the early results in 2015 show there's much work to be done.

Dolniya (7/1) shocked the crowd by taking the win in the penultimate race, the Dubai Sheema Classic, beating favoured Flintshire (3/1) and Main Sequence (9/2) with relative ease.
The mare took the lead in the final straight with Flintshire next to her, and while the favourite seemed to be bursting through in the final furlongs, the colt's pace collapsed quickly, allowing Dolniya to glide home.
Trainer Alain De Royer-Dupre told Racing UK's Geoffrey Riddle the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe remains Dolniya's biggest objective, although the soft ground at Longchamp could be a problem:
Mubtaahij (9/4 j) continued his fantastic run of form in the UAE Derby, almost embarrassing the pack on his way to a spot in this year's Kentucky Derby. The three-year-old colt didn't just win on Saturday—he obliterated the field, via Channel 4 Racing:
Maftool (5/1) and Golden Barows (9/4 j) were a distant second and third, making it four wins in five starts for Mubtaahij in Meydan.
As shared by ESPN Horse Racing, the colt has now qualified for the Kentucky Derby, and trainer Mike de Kock has already confirmed he'll find a way to combine the European calendar with arguably the biggest race of the season:

Salutos Amigos (3/1 f) entered the Golden Shaheen in monstrous form, but punters betting big on the gelding watched in horror as he finished a disappointing eighth, well behind winner Secret Circle (10/3) and Super Jockey (20/1).
At the time, the track looked as if it was starting to favour pure speed over power, but it was still a disappointing result for the American gelding.
