Manchester United Transfer News: Paul Pogba Door Opens, Felipe Anderson Rumours
Juventus would struggle to stop Paul Pogba leaving if a club made a big enough offer, according to Executive Director Beppe Marotta. That will be welcome news for Manchester United, who are one of several high-profile clubs linked with the outrageously talented French midfielder.
The Red Devils are also very keen on Lazio's rising Brazilian star Felipe Anderson, but Pogba would be the headline-grabbing coup.
Marotta expressed his fears Pogba could leave during an interview with Italian publication Corriere della Sera (h/t Mirror reporter Neil McLeman):

"Pogba is still master of his own destiny, and if he chooses to leave then it will be hard for the club to keep him.
He's given no sign that he wants to go away. The problem is when a player is offered a contract that can be two or three times higher than what he's currently earning. We're talking about a net €10m salary per season.
"
If United are keen to make that kind of offer, they'd hardly be alone. McLeman noted that Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester City would also be interested. He even added mega-rich Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain to the mix.
That's strong competition, even for United. B/R's James McNicholas named neighbours City the front-runners should Pogba push for a move in the immediate future:
Obviously, Pogba has a more direct connection with the Red Devils. He famously traded in life on the outer fringes of United's first team for a move to Juve in 2012.
Although Pogba hasn't looked back since, establishing himself as perhaps the most complete midfielder in the modern game, he apparently hasn't forgotten his time at Old Trafford.
Back in January, Pogba declared he still loves the club during an interview with FourFourTwo magazine (h/t Sky Sports). The current United squad could certainly use Pogba.
He combines the finest attributes of their best midfield players. He boasts the physical power, tough tackling and drive of Marouane Fellaini, the assurance in possession of Ander Herrera, and the flair and eye for goal of Juan Mata.
But Reds boss Louis van Gaal knows he also needs to retool in defence and up front if United are going to be legitimate title contenders next season. Lazio forward Anderson is the attacker in his sights.
United and Chelsea have scouted the dynamic South American in recent games, according to The Telegraph's John Percy. Jim Lawlor, United's chief scout, has been present.
Daily Star writer Jamie Anderson provides quotes from Lazio gaffer Stefano Pioli, who believes the 21-year-old attacking midfielder should stay where he is for now: "He still has room for improvement here at Lazio. He is a young player and works incredibly hard. He can become a player who will be unstoppable for his opponents."
Whoever Van Gaal opts for, it's clear he isn't wasting time putting his plans for next season into motion. The trips to run the rule over Anderson prove that.
As for the interest in Pogba, that's proof United are ready to spare no expense to return to the top of the European game.
