5 Uncapped Mexico Players to Watch out for in 2015

Karla Villegas GamaMar 24, 2015

Miguel Herrera is getting his squad ready to face Ecuador and Paraguay in the first FIFA date of the year, but there are still several options out there.

Some footballers have played with Mexico's youth teams, either in CONCACAF championships or World Cups, but they haven't gotten a shot with the senior team.

Despite being young players, they have proven to be hungry and have defended their club's jersey with all they have.

These five players could very well get their first cap for El Tri in 2015.

Hirving Lozano

One of Pachuca's most promising guys is without question Hirving Lozano.

He has been a thriving force in the middle of the pitch thanks to his speed and dribbling skills through both flanks.

Lozano has a fantastic long-distance shot. He is a great asset when it comes to set pieces, but he can also find spaces to put the ball away in open plays.

At age 19, he is in his third season with Tuzos. This season he has two goals to his count (eight overall).

Carlos Fierro

2 of 5

Carlos Fierro showed his skills in the 2011 U-17 World Cup, where he helped Mexico secure the title.

He has been with Guadalajara since the youth system. He made his debut in the Liga MX in the 2011 Apertura tournament, where he appeared eight times.

Fierro has appeared seven times this season, six of them in the starting XI. He has a lot of hunger and takes advantage of every opportunity he gets.

He can play behind the striker or through the right flank.

Marco Bueno

The Toluca striker hadn't had much luck in the Liga MX until this season.

He had played 27 games in six tournaments with Pachuca and put the ball away four times. He arrived in Diablos Rojos for the 2014 Apertura, but he only appeared once.

But the 2015 Clausura has seen him start nine games out of 11, plus he has already scored twice and has an assist.

His aerial game is superb, as he takes advantage of his height (5’11’’) and power when striking the ball with his head.

Diego Gama

One of the youngest prospects is Diego Gama. He used to play for Toluca's U20 squad, and in 2014 he got a chance from coach Jose Saturnino Cardozo to make his debut with the senior team.

However, Gama caught the attention of Atletico Madrid's B-team, where he is currently playing.

His knack for goalscoring combined with his fine touch and strong aerial game make him a lethal weapon, especially in set pieces, as he knows how to leave the defenders behind easily.

Carlos Salcedo

5 of 5

Carlos Salcedo is one of Jose Manuel de la Torre's new talents; he brought him from MLS club Real Salt Lake.

The Guadalajara youngster has proven his skills as a centre-back, making Chivas stronger in the back line, where they had lots of trouble last season.

Despite being just 21 years old, Salcedo is an undisputed starter and he has even scored once in his debut Liga MX season.

He can also take over the right flank if needed.
