Liverpool Transfer News: Radamel Falcao Approach Revealed Amid Chelsea Rumours
Liverpool and Chelsea are both prepared to give Radamel Falcao another shot at the Premier League in 2015/16 following his tumultuous loan spell at Manchester United.
That’s according to Antony Kastrinakis of The Sun, who cites sources from Monaco—the team that currently own the Colombian striker—which suggest Liverpool have already been in contact to take the forward on loan in a deal similar to the Red Devils’ arrangement this season.

Here’s a look at some of Falcao's best moments from his time at Atletico Madrid, a spell during which he was arguably the best centre-forward at the planet:
Sadly for the striker, he’s not quite adapted to life in the Premier League. While the endeavour and application from the forward has been irrepressible, the golden goalscoring touch so prominent in the above clip seems to have temporarily eluded him in the red of United. Indeed, four league goals this season is a meagre return for a player of his undeniable pedigree, per WhoScored.com.
But there have been some extenuating circumstances for the striker. After all, it’s his first full season since returning from a nasty knee injury that curtailed his World Cup chances and for the most part, he’s been leading the line for a United team bereft of freedom and ingenuity.

After all, as we can see here courtesy of FourFourTweet, it’s not as if United’s other forward options have enjoyed magnificent campaigns themselves either:
You suspect if Falcao was up front in this Red Devils side in the past two games—during which Louis van Gaal’s side have played infinitely better in a 4-3-3 system—things may well have been different, per Sam Pilger of FourFourTwo:
But the fact he’s scarcely been used from the start in 2015 suggests Van Gaal has made his mind up on the player.
For Liverpool, he could represent an intriguing proposition, though. With creative talents in situ like Raheem Sterling, Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana, the Colombian certainly wouldn’t be short of service. After a season acclimatising the rumbustious nature of English football, perhaps we’d see a different player next time round.

Indeed, MUFC People’s Person thinks that Falcao will end up thriving again next season in a manner comparable to Diego Forlan once he left United:
But Liverpool legend Steve Nicol told talkSPORT's Extra Time that he thinks any talk of a move for the striker is most likely "garbage":
"I've always thought that anything I have read in the papers is probably absolute garbage and anybody who has seen Falcao play this year is not going to buy him.
And Liverpool definitely ain't buying him.
"

Anyway, Falcao doesn’t look like an archetypal Liverpool signing. He’d be an undeniable upgrade on players like Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli and could potentially form a fine partnership at the top end of the pitch with Daniel Sturridge, but the figures being bandied about in terms of wages are obscene and surely out of Liverpool's reach.

Brendan Rodgers has a clear set of mantras that he typically adheres to when signing players. The Liverpool boss tends to target hungry, young and versatile footballers capable of taking on various tactical instructions. Players like Sturridge and Coutinho had raw but malleable attributes when they walked through the Anfield door, but are now thoroughbred stars.
Falcao isn’t in that bracket and although he’s showcased an unrelenting hunger and willingness to succeed at United, he’s a player that doesn’t tick the right boxes for Liverpool in both financial and on-field terms.
