USA vs. Denmark: Date, Time, Live Stream and 2015 Friendly Preview
The U.S. men's national soccer team will face a couple of tricky friendlies against European opposition during this international break, the first of which will be an intriguing encounter with Denmark.
Jurgen Klinsmann has selected a squad that’s packed with players based across the pond, and while there is nothing up for grabs in terms of tangible gains for the USMNT, it’s a chance for players on the fringes of the first team to impress the manager with next summer’s Centennial Copa America moving increasingly closer.
Morten Olsen’s side will be desperate to make an impression too, though. They face the USMNT and France during this window, and there will be players aplenty looking to stake a claim for a starting spot ahead of the team’s upcoming UEFA European Football Championship qualifier with Serbia.

Ideal Opportunity for USMNT Experimentation

Klinsmann looks as though he’s going to use these two friendly games in Europe to experiment with the side a little. Geoff Cameron won’t feature after he was left out of the squad—with the German seemingly intent on mixing things up in defence—while Brad Guzan has also been omitted as he awaits the birth of his first child.
Looking to fill the void left by those two experienced players will be defender Ventura Alvarado and goalkeeper William Yarbrough, who have both been called into the squad for the first time. Both have been impressing with their Mexican-based teams Club America and Club Leon, respectively, and Klinsmann admitted it’s a division he’s keeping a close eye on, per an interview with ussoccer.com:
"We have a network of people in Mexico, which was really established by Martin Vasquez when he was with me as my assistant.
So we have very good contacts, I can always kind of call people. I can always ask questions about specific players coming through the Liga MX.

It’s a unit bristling with players based in Europe, and that will surely serve as an advantage for Klinsmann and his side as they look to bag a result in Aarhus. But Denmark are a difficult team to play against, especially on home soil, where they have won four of their last six matches, per soccerway.com.

The Danes boast some quality players too. Simon Kjaer and Daniel Agger are two uncompromising but assured defenders, and Nicklas Bendtner is a handful up at the sharp end of the pitch. But arguably the classiest operator within their ranks is Tottenham star Christian Eriksen.
As noted here by Squawka Football, the USMNT will have to be quick to close down the 23-year-old once he gets within shooting range:

It’s a match that will be a landmark occasion for the former Ajax man too. As noted by Reuters, he will become the youngest Danish player ever to accrue 50 international caps should he feature against Klinsmann’s team, beating the record of a certain Michael Laudrup in the process.
With a sprinkling of extra quality from the likes of Eriksen and Bendtner, and with the USMNT likely to experiment a little more than the hosts, a win for the Danes looks the most likely outcome here. Klinsmann has some key men missing, and that will tell over 90 minutes. He’ll be hoping some players usually on the periphery step up and seize their chance.
