Wladimir Klitschko Camp Targets Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury Fights
Wladimir Klitschko is lining up his next opponent, with Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury the top options following his world heavyweight title defence against Bryant Jennings at Madison Square Garden next month.
The 38-year-old Ukrainian—who currently holds the WBA, WBO and IBF belts—is clearly confident in seeing off his American opponent in New York, per Sky Sports, and his assistant trainer James Ali Bashir has named Wilder or Fury as future opponents.
American Wilder, the WBC heavyweight champion, is the clear primary target as the holder of Klitschko's only missing belt, and Bashir is eager to see his charge fight for the chance to be named undisputed champion, but Fury is the WBO mandatory challenger, per On The Ropes Boxing Radio (h/t Boxing Scene):
"I would personally like to see him fight Deontay Wilder so that he can fulfill his dream of becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion. I would personally like to see him fight the WBC champion, Deontay Wilder, but I would also like to see him fight Tyson Fury too because Fury has been there, he's done what he's had to do to get where he's at, he's the number one contender in the WBO and he's earned a right to fight for the championship. I'd like to see that happen too, but I first would like to see him fight Deontay Wilder, but at the same time I would like to see Tyson Fury get his shot.
"
Wilder's record currently stands at 33-0, 32 of which have been knockouts. Only his last fight against Bermane Stiverne went the distance, with the Alabama fighter winning on unanimous decision.

He has called out Klitschko recently, suggesting he is "the guy that will beat him," per Thaboxingvoice.com.
However, for most of the boxing world, Klitschko is still seen as the main man after nine years of domination in the heavyweight division, per boxing commentator Max Kellerman:
The 29-year-old Wilder likely needs a couple more fights under his belt before he can truly challenge Klitschko—time in which the Ukrainian will age also—but the pair could be set for an imminent meeting.
Fury is also undefeated—24-0—his most recent victory coming over Romania's Christian Hammer in London at the end of February.
The 26-year-old Mancunian clearly has his sights set on Klitschko, his trainer Peter Fury recently insisting no other fights will be taken until talks have been thrashed out with the Ukrainian, per World Boxing News.
Fury has worked himself into the mandatory position to fight Klitschko and would likely prove a worthy challenger, but he looks to be second on the list behind Wilder.
Klitschko's glorious career looks set to run and run, with few people giving Jennings a chance next month, but there are plenty of decent challengers waiting in the wings in the hopes of ending the veteran's domination.
