Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com has more details on the contract:
Moeaki will now join Jacob Tamme—who announced he would be signing with the team on Twitter Thursday—along with incumbent starter Levine Toilolo, who had a poor season for the team and certainly didn't make anyone forget about Tony Gonzalez.
Toilolo could see his snaps drastically cut with Tamme and Moeaki now on the roster.
Since a promising 2010 rookie season with the Kansas City Chiefs that saw him catch 47 passes for 556 yards and three touchdowns, injuries have hampered his effectiveness.
An ACL tear cost him the 2011 season, and a fracture of his scapula cost him his 2013 campaign. He surfaced with the Buffalo Bills, but a pulled hamstring kept him off of the field for a good portion of the 2014 season.
He was cut by the Bills and ended up with the Seattle Seahawks, where he played six regular-season games, catching eight passes for 134 yards and a score.
The Falcons will be hoping his injury woes are behind him, and he more closely resembles the promising rookie that appeared to have a great career in front of him. If he can stay on the field and pair with Tamme to give the team a solid one-two punch at tight end, he could end up being one of the better bargain buys in free agency.
