Manchester United Transfer News: Gareth Bale Warned Against Real Madrid Exit
Wales boss Chris Coleman believes Gareth Bale should stay at Real Madrid, despite ongoing speculation he could return to the Premier League with a move to Manchester United or Chelsea, per Phil Blanche of the Press Association (h/t Daily Mail).
Bale has faced a flurry of jeers from the Madrid crowd in recent times. Supporters turned sour on him when he failed to set Cristiano Ronaldo up with a simple tap-in during January's 3-0 win over Espanyol, with the former Tottenham man later going on a nine-game goal drought.

He ended it with a brace during the recent win over Levante, one in which he covered his ears and kicked the corner flag in an apparent showing of frustration after his first goal. Coleman believes Madrid is the right place for Bale, however, per Blanche's report.
"He should stay where he is," Coleman said. "Chelsea are a huge club and have been successful as are Manchester United—but Real Madrid is Real Madrid. Gareth's good enough to win the big trophies, play on the big stage and play with the biggest club."
Coleman also noted playing for Madrid "is almost like a show and there has to be entertainment," saying, "Gareth is good enough to win trophies and entertain at Real Madrid at the highest level."

United were recently linked with offering goalkeeper David De Gea and cash to secure Bale's services, reported by Jeremy Cross of the Daily Star.
Coleman suggests Bale's potential exit isn't close, and that after speaking with the player's agent, he knows there are "no problems" with regards to his Madrid future, per Blanche.
"He's been caught up in a bit of a storm but, knowing Gareth as I do, I'd be really surprised if he said, 'I've had enough, I'm not accepting that and I'm coming home,'" noted the former Fulham boss.
Spanish publication Marca suggests Bale "regained his mojo" with the reappearance of Luka Modric, who recently returned to Madrid's lineup following a long-term injury. The newspaper indicates Bale "became a duller player with every game that passed" without his former Spurs team-mate and that the Croatian's return sets Los Blancos up nicely for Sunday's Clasico.

Sport Witness and Real Madrid Info highlighted the increasing optimism that Bale will soon replicate his best form:
Bale remains a key player for club and country. His gut-busting forward runs have the power to turn a match in an instant. We've seen this numerous times over the years—most notably when he burst beyond Barcelona defender Marc Bartra to win last season's Copa del Rey—but an average turn of form isn't good enough to cut it at Madrid.
It's likely United and Chelsea will often be linked with his services, as the best English clubs want to have the best British players. Louis van Gaal's side are crying out for someone of Bale's style and must search for an injection of pace over the summer.

Madrid fans enjoy a luxurious type of football. They take no prisoners, a judgement that doesn't stop with their own team. While Coleman believes Bale is best suited to remaining in Spain, it's extremely difficult to halt jeers indefinitely when they have started. Even if Bale hits stunning form, it's likely onlookers will be ready to jump on his back when the inevitable lull occurs.
This may eventually frustrate the Welshman back to the Premier League, where the elite will undoubtedly look to snap him up. United's two statement signings of last summer—Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao—have failed to impress this season, but the thought of Bale heading to Old Trafford will fill many supporters with excitement.
Although Coleman believes his countryman is best suited to La Liga, continued pressure from Madrid's supporters may eventually render Bale's quality futile in the Spanish division.
