Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Hill, 35, spent last season with the St. Louis Rams. He threw for 1,657 yards and eight touchdowns against seven interceptions, taking over for multiple stints amid an injury to Sam Bradford and ineffective play from Austin Davis. It was the first time since 2010 that Hill had made an NFL start.
The former undrafted free agent has played 13 NFL seasons, starting only 34 contests. He has spent most of his career as a backup or a third-string option, including extended stays with the San Francisco 49ers and the Detroit Lions.
Hill began his career with a four-year stint in Minnesota buried deep on the Vikings depth chart, appearing in only one game from 2002 to 2005. His return to the Vikings comes under a similar capacity, as the team hopes it never has to turn away from Bridgewater. The former Louisville star threw for 2,919 yards and 14 touchdowns against 12 interceptions in 13 games as a rookie.
Hill's signing comes after Minnesota traded primary backup Matt Cassel to Buffalo and allowed Christian Ponder to hit free agency. For his career, he has thrown for 8,038 yards and 49 touchdowns against 30 interceptions.
