England vs. Bangladesh: Highlights, Scorecard, Report from Cricket World Cup
England fell to a 15-run defeat to Bangladesh to crash out of the Cricket World Cup.
England arrived in Adelaide fully aware that defeat would result in them failing to get out of the group stage.

On a decent Adelaide pitch, England restricted Bangladesh to 275 for 7 from their 50 overs. It was a target well within reach, but the batsmen were found wanting and not even a brilliant 65 from Jos Buttler could get them home.
England have one game remaining against Afghanistan, but it holds no relevance as far as qualification is concerned—with Bangladesh booking their place in the knockout stages.

The Bangladesh celebrations at the end of the match told the story, as England fell to one of their lowest points in their ODI history.

Eoin Morgan had no hesitation in electing to bowl, with the England skipper of the opinion that conditions would play to his swing bowlers’ strengths.
Morgan was proved emphatically correct, as James Anderson got the ball to shape away from the left handers.
Anderson’s late swing proved too much for Imrul Kayes and Tamim Iqbal who were both caught in the slips.
Soumya Sarkar and Mohammad Mahmudullah set about repairing the damage and they put on 86 for the third wicket before the former was undone by a bouncer from Chris Jordan.
Mahmudullah continued to compile runs and he found an ally in Mushfiqur Rahim. The pair put on 141 runs at a good rate, with the former posting the first century by a Bangladesh player at a World Cup.

Chris Woakes produced a direct throw to run out Mahmudullah, while Mushfiqur fell 11 short of his century as England bowled well at the death to peg the Bangladesh innings at 275 for 7.

England got off to a solid start with the bat in pursuit of 276, but Moeen Ali rode his luck as he got away with a few streaky edges and survived an lbw that was overturned on review.

But having made his way to 19, disaster struck for Ali as he and Ian Bell got in a terrible muddle over a single and Ali was run out.

Alex Hales strode out to the crease, having been restored to the side, but he did not bat with the freedom he does at County level and he edged Mashrafe Mortaza behind to the keeper.
Bell continued to accumulate runs and went to his fifty with little alarm, but he got a little bogged down and fell to Rubel Hossain who found some extra bounce to take the edge of the opener’s bat.
Buoyed by his wicket, Rubel charged in and sent down a couple of swift bouncers to Morgan. The England captain swayed out of the way of the first, but took on the second. He made excellent contact, but the ball flew to deep backward square leg where Shakib took a wonderful catch.
Joe Root looked comfortable but he was another batsman to edge behind, which left England in real trouble at 163 for 6.
Buttler is seen as England’s finisher, but he was asked to come in far earlier than the management prefer.
Buttler, though, seized his chance to show he has more to his game than just a finisher as he played a wonderful innings.
He batted with confidence and composure, and had tipped the game back England's way with a half century.
However, he edged Taskin Ahmed behind and it opened up an end.
Chris Woakes still gave England hope, but Rubel returned to knock over Stuart Broad and Anderson in the penultimate over to seal an amazing win for Bangladesh.
