The USA came into this tournament in indifferent form, having only just edged out England, and losing to an impressive France, prior to the Algarve Cup.
And the strange performance somewhat continued in their opening gambit of this tournament, having to come back from a goal behind to defeat a dangerous Norway by 2-1.
So a match against an inexperienced Switzerland was just what the doctor ordered as USWNT cruised to an easy 3-0 win.
The result saw America's big guns find the back of the net as Alex Morgan and Abby Wambach netted, to add to Amy Rodriguez finish, and seal the points.

The USA have slowly found their feet in recent weeks and have allayed the fears behind their early performances in the current European tour.
The form of Morgan is crucial to the USA's hopes at the upcoming World Cup and it seems she is starting to find her feet.
To the team's credit, the USA might have capitulated at the hands of a useful Norway side, but as highlighted by Sports Illustrated's Grant Wahl, the American women did well to claw their way back into the tie and win, giving special praise to midfielder Carli Lloyd:

Head coach Jill Ellis has struggled to create a balance but it seems she is coming close to it now. She appeared pleased by her team's progress in the two group games and the way the team interpreted her tactics, per USsoccer.com
"I thought we were patient. In the first half, Switzerland made it hard for us to play and they got numbers behind the ball, but I thought our patience and our tempo certainly picked up in the second half.
We obviously had some great finishes off a set piece and two goals in the run up play which I thought were fantastic. Our game changers came in and made a difference so I was really pleased; really pleased all-around with the performance.
"

Iceland are ranked 20th in the world, per FIFA.com, and pose no credible threat to the USA in the pursuit of this trophy.
They were as high as 15th place in the world in 2011-12 but they have seen better days than their recent outings.
If Iceland can produce their best football, there is always a chance they could grab an unlikely point from this fixture.
However, Morgan and company appear to be gelling now, and they will not let an inferior opponent take advantage of them at this stage of the competition.
For America, this tournament is about finding rhythm and confidence, and with a strong and fit squad, USWNT can go on an become World Champions once again.
But first they will want to win the Algarve Cup after their dismal placing in 2014, where they could only finish seventh.
Wambach will be needed to add her experience to the cause if the Americans are to prevail here, but if Morgan's form explodes, no team will be able to stop the USA.
