Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
First and foremost, let's take a second to realize how insane that number is. That is over $4 million more than the next-closest franchise, the Oakland Raiders, and over $15 million more than the third team, the New York Jets.
This number has been hyped up by many people on social media, but it is most likely not the final number. The Jaguars still have moves to make before free agency begins.
The Jaguars currently have 14 players who will become free agents on Tuesday, and that includes names like Tyson Alualu, Alan Ball, Austin Pasztor and Cecil Shorts.
Should the Jaguars re-sign some of these players, the number would obviously drop, but the number would still be gigantic. Alualu is currently averaging $4,479,800 a year and is the highest contract by a large margin for Jaguars free agents.
As for the five restricted free agents on the list above, ESPN's Michael DiRocco broke the news on their future with the Jaguars.
Jordan Todman and Jacques McClendon are the most notable names on that list. Considering that all five of those players' current pay combined was $2,955,000, that's a sizable amount that won't be taken from the Jaguars' total cap space.
The only player the Jaguars have re-signed before free agency has started is Ryan Davis, an exclusive rights free agent. Davis has been with the Jaguars since 2012 and was the cheapest player up for free agency.
The remaining eight possible re-signings were worth $9,176,091 in 2014, and considering the Jaguars will not re-sign all of them that won't be the actual impact on the Jaguars salary cap.
As for the rest of the team, don't expect the Jaguars to release anyone before the window opens on Tuesday, especially for the more expensive players like Paul Posluszny or Marcedes Lewis.
If the Jaguars had planned to release either Posluszny or Lewis, they would have done it by now. For veteran players like them, a common courtesy is releasing them early so that they can plan to sign with other teams, similar to what the Jaguars did with free agent Will Blackmon.
The Jaguars have been patient and quiet in the weeks coming up to free agency, which isn't too surprising. There has been no need for any major moves, and the Jaguars have just been waiting for the market to open and make their moves then.
The Jaguars know what they have financially and on the roster, and head coach Gus Bradley and general manager Dave Caldwell don't want to shake up what they've been building for the past couple of years.
Expect the Jaguars to spend when Tuesday arrives. Caldwell and company may be quiet now, but this kind of money and the quality of players that are out on the market right now are too good to pass up on. The Jaguars are ready to be the big spenders of free agency.
