Jimmy Butler Donates $10K to School After Student Makes 1-Handed 3-Pointer
The Chicago Bulls' Jimmy Butler might be injured, but that isn't stopping him from doing good deeds. Butler visited Phoenix Military Academy on Wednesday to help raise awareness about childhood hunger in America.
Butler, who is healing a sprained left elbow, challenged the junior class to shoot free throws for a chance to win money for the school. For every free-throw shot made, he would donate $50. The juniors took advantage of the bet, but Butler wasn't done.
Per the school's website, Butler said if he drained a three-pointer with one hand, he would donate $10,000. Then, he challenged junior Jabaree White to do the same and would donate another $10,000 if he made it.
"Soon after that he then went on to say that if he made a 3 point shot with one hand he would donate $10,000 to the school. He made the shot easily and then challenged junior Jabaree White to do the same for another $10,000. Butler offered to gave (sic) White 3 tries to make the shot but he nailed it in one which got the class real whipped up and screaming in joy.
"
In total, Butler donated $20,000 to the school.
