Chelsea vs. Tottenham: Key Comments from Jose Mourinho's Pre-Match Presser
Jose Mourinho believes he has an obligation to win titles at Chelsea and insists the Blues are fully focused on victory against Tottenham Hotspur in Sunday's Capital One Cup final at Wembley.
During Friday's pre-match press conference, Mourinho also managed to aim a veiled dig at Sunday's opponents, hinting that certain players might try to "complicate" things in the capital.
Having narrowly beaten Liverpool in the semi-finals, Mourinho returns to Wembley for the first time since his arrival back at Chelsea at the beginning of last season, and he is clearly eager to claim the first trophy of the term, per John Cross in the Mirror: "To win titles is an obligation at Chelsea, year after year. This is the only moment since I arrived last July that I don't think about the future. I only think about this game and not the consequences. We have a final to win on Sunday—nothing else matters."

Currently topping the Premier League, Chelsea are favourites to prevail against their London rivals on Sunday, although Spurs came out on top in the pair's most recent meeting, Mauricio Pochettino's side winning 5-3 at White Hart Lane in January.
Spurs come into the encounter with the disadvantage of having played a Europa League tie on Thursday—they were knocked out of the competition by Fiorentina—but Mourinho does not believe it will have much of an impact, per Chelsea FC:
A previous winner of the League Cup on two occasions in his first stint at Chelsea—in 2005 and 2007—Mourinho is eager for Sunday to be the first of many trips to Wembley for his side, per Sky Sports' Adam Hunt:
Chelsea's form coming into Sunday's final is not the best, the Blues having drawn at home to Burnley in the Premier League last weekend in a bad-tempered affair.
Nemanja Matic was sent off in controversial circumstances against the Clarets and is suspended for Sunday as a result, although Mourinho refused to be drawn on the matter, per ITV Football:
The Portuguese manager has been vocal in his criticism of officials of late—Sunday's man in charge will be Anthony Taylor—but he was in more enigmatic form on Thursday, per BBC Sport:
"I don't believe that anyone involved in this game doesn't want to do his best. I believe all three teams (Chelsea, Spurs, the officials) will go with the same ambition—to do very well.
Hopefully even the players that like to complicate things, hopefully they will try to make the final a big final.
"
Along with Matic, Mourinho also confirmed that John Obi Mikel will be missing for the Tottenham clash, but the Nigerian is Chelsea's only injury concern, per football writer Ben Dinnery:
Thus the likes of Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas, Eden Hazard and Oscar are all set to be on show at Wembley as Mourinho looks to add another trophy to his already sizeable collection of silverware.
It is likely to be a closely-fought battle at Wembley, and a repeat of the 5-3 result on New Year's Day is highly unlikely with Mourinho sure to make certain his defence stay disciplined.
The Blues are likely victors, and there is no doubt Mourinho is eager to win the Capital One Cup, potentially the first of three trophies this season.
