Six Nations 2015: Dates, Times, TV and Live Stream Info for Round 3 Fixtures

Gianni VerschuerenFeb 27, 2015

The meeting between undefeated England and last year's champions Ireland highlights Round 3 of the 2015 Six Nations tournament, as the visitors try to avenge last year's narrow title miss.

England tied the Irish squad on points at the end of the tournament but fell short of the title due to Ireland's superior point differential; something captain Chris Robshaw believes will only motivate his team even more, via BBC Sport:

"

The worst bit about last year was probably seeing something like that happen and being photographed at the time and then the next day seeing the two extremes in the way the camps reacted across every paper.

[...]I don't think guys need much motivation for this game. It's going to be built up, it's going to be exciting. Two great teams going at it.

Preview

Injuries haven't slowed down England's march through the Six Nations in 2015 so far, so in a way, it's only fitting full-back Mike Brown will be absent from the squad due to concussion against Ireland, per Sky Sports:

Organisation, discipline and plenty of big bodies and physical strength are the keys for this England squad, although the speed out wide can't be understated, either. The squad's resiliency was also on full display against Wales and Italy, twice responding well to early setbacks.

Those mental errors have to be avoided against Ireland at all cost. While the hosts haven't looked overly impressive against Italy and France, the defending champions have the experience to exploit early struggles and the physicality to keep England in check late in the match.

The return of back-rower Sean O'Brien will only aid in that department, per BBC Rugby Union:

Ireland would love nothing more than to turn Sunday's clash into a grinding battle while playing with a lead, so England have to avoid early mistakes.

The clash at the Stade de France has the makings of a classic kicking battle, with Leigh Halfpenny going head-to-head with Camille Lopez. The 26-year-old knows he shouldn't expect a warm welcome, despite playing his rugby for Toulon these days, per Guardian sport:

Sir Ian McGeechan wrote in Telegraph Sport that he believes scrum-half Morgan Parra will lead the hosts to victory:

George North and Samson Lee return for Wales after both missed the match against Scotland due to concussion-related problems, and the addition of the two star players could help the Welsh extend their win-streak over Les Bleus to four matches.

The loser of the fixture between Scotland and Italy will be in pole-position to be awarded this year's wooden spoon, and Stuart Hogg told the Daily Record he expects one of these two teams to end the tournament with the dubious honour:

Like England, the Italians are banged up, but the minnows of the Six Nations lack the depth to cope with the numerous absentees. The visitors had a solid showing against Ireland with an organised defence, but offensively, they showed little to no creativity in either of their two matches so far.

The Scots will be without Finn Russell, whose ban for a dangerous tackle on Wales' Dan Biggar was upheld, per ESPN Scrum.com:

This led Vern Cotter to name Glasgow Warriors fly-half Peter Horne as his No. 10, which could throw a serious wrench into the Scottish plans.

That said, Italy shouldn't represent too many problems, providing Cotter's men don't shoot themselves in the foot. The Italians' resilience has been admirable so far this tournament, but they remain susceptible to speed out wide and will tire toward the end of the match.
